Your glaze results are very interesting and beautiful. Is there a specific firing schedule you use when firing pieces glazed with the Selsor Chun and Floating Blue combination?

I really liked this video. Great description of what you do. I assume that the dots are made from your black slip.
@OldForgeCreations4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The dots are actually the same dark clay as the body of the piece, but it's a very similar effect

So the glazes melt together? I’m recently told myself that I will learn this craft and there’s so much and looking for starter classes near me.
@mohammadabualrob68984 жыл бұрын
nice work , can concrete pots be glazed with same results ??
@OldForgeCreations4 жыл бұрын
I don't know enough to say for certain, but I doubt they'd survive a high temperature firing. So the better way to do it with a concrete piece would probably be trying to recreate the pattern in paint or resin
@mohammadabualrob68984 жыл бұрын
Old Forge Creations thanks for your reply 🙂
@fireflyexposed4 жыл бұрын
A friend of mine works in concrete and in pottery. You can't just glaze concrete because the fit will be wrong and concrete can't be fired that high. What he has done is taken the ingredients you use to make fire bricks (the bricks you use for fireplaces, built in BBQ's, Fire pits etc) and combined it with grog. Those ingredients should be able to go to high fire temps but you need to formulate a glaze that will fit because the fire brick materials and grog don't allow for much movement at all. Hope that helps in some way.

Where does the color come from in your glaze?
@deepashtray56054 жыл бұрын
Nice. Have you experimented with soaking the glaze fire at different temps?
@OldForgeCreations4 жыл бұрын
Not particularly. I generally have the majority of the kiln filled with pieces for orders, so I need the firings to be as consistent as possible.

I was watching all of this to try to figure out if I need to put the in an oven or not but there was no explanation 😂 Can I do this at home or no?
@marthahunter70962 жыл бұрын
You’ll need a kiln for ceramics. An oven only works with clay that can be fired at low temperatures, and it won’t work with glaze.

Where can you get the suction cup to hold items for dip glazing. Thank you.
@MrAntiKnowledge4 жыл бұрын
I think it's just a car dent puller. Any decent suction cup should work the same though.
