I'm hoping to study Mechanical Engineering and potentially advanced Aerospece/Bioengineering at masters as well as PhD level
@gman90902 жыл бұрын
I would suggest avoiding niche engineering degrees like aerospace, biomedical and the likes for several reasons. Stick to the 4 main engineering disciplines, i.e. mech, chem, elec and civil if you want to study engineering. Job openings are extremely low for niche eng degrees
@SA64R2 жыл бұрын
I have to disagree, having studied aerospace and now working in software, you're very rarely bound by the degree you've chosen to the industry you can go into. More over, many jobs nowadays don't care on the specific discipline of engineering you've done especially for grad roles. Many job listings say Mech Eng or similar engineering discipline which includes aerospace etc. Aerospace is also not as niche as it may first appear, there are plenty of industries that need aerospace engineers such as space, aviation, energy / renewables, automotive, motorsport, defence.
@JA-iu4pj2 жыл бұрын
They teach very similar disciplines aerospace is for people who want to work aviation sectors and space specifically or not you may love coding while you are at uni and go into software development it’s not niche at all hard disagree

Hellllo , I wanna pursue my btech in Aerospace engineering .I found many universities from UK,US it's quite costly.. would you pls guide me through it where to take admission , required entrace ,etc..! awaiting for ur response
@ceoof60111 ай бұрын
Hey ruchita I was stuck in the same conundrum as you were in. I'm telling you right now aim for IISc or the space science uni in Kerala, because even if you graduated 1st in aero in Harvard even you'd be stuck to isro. As an Indian citizen, you can't work in any other space agencies other than isro, and IISc and the other uni is the fastest route to get into isro. U could do mech eng in Europe, Poland, Czech republic, Prague, spain, Italy etc

@@ruchita9563 both are good, but I'm pretty sure IISc has internship opportunities at isro as in they're affiliated with isro so yeah. Also make sure you one hundred percent know that this is what you want to do, maybe 4-5 students actually get aerospace jobs out of their entire batch
