How I got a hysterectomy in my 20s
#hysterectomy #hysterectomyunder30 #pmdd
It is common knowledge that it can be very hard for a woman to get a hysterectomy, and the younger you are, the harder it is. And it is especially difficult if you have never had children or aren't married. But I was finally able to get one done a few weeks before my 29th birthday with no husband and no children. I suffer from PMDD and endometriosis and have been wanting a hysterectomy for longer than I can remember.

I'm a multiple rape victim and the justice system and society has repeatedly failed me. Many men have watched me go through this and done nothing. They're all who would be left to have a child with. I don't want someone like that to share my life or my genes. I don't think you should have to have a medical condition to have your uterus removed. Some of us don't want to live with the anxiety of being impregnated through rape and then traumatized by the justice system and blamed by some of the most truly disgusting people on this planet. We should be able to get our uteruses removed if the society shows no signs of taking rape and harassment seriously and women are at serious risk of being impregnated through rape, and there is nobody strong or not cowardly enough to do anything about it. Women's lives matter. It is our uteruses; the anxiety, pain, and life instability rape and harassment has caused me has pushed me to attempt suicide at least twice. To say it's not a risk to my health is malpractice. If we have a grossly incompetent court system and we are clearly undergoing financial abuse while seriously overqualified, we should be able to get our uteruses removed so we don't end up chained to a rapist for the rest of our lives. To say otherwise is to say we shouldn't save young girls hidden in rooms with the FBI. All the men I have told about this have made it about themselves and are absolute cowards. A selfish coward is not someone I want to give my genes to to see more of in the world. I want less of them in the world, not more. I shouldn't have to fear being chained to them by rape for the rest of my life.

I agree 100% with what you are saying, but there are way better and safer methods of permanent birth control for women. Getting your tubes removed, cauterized or blocked is a way better and lower risk procedure than a hysterectomy. A hysterectomy is not justified just to prevent pregnancy, it's just too high risk and has so many life changing potential complications.

Doctors won’t remove a healthy uterus from a woman the same way they wouldn’t castrate a man who doesn’t need it , or remove a healthy limbs to a psychotic person … the only time doctors remove healthy reproductive systems is to trans identified people … and luckily this is changing too . A doctor job is to heal , not to mutilate people unnecessary . By the way , not sure if you know , but hysterectomy doesn’t cure endometriosis most of the times . I’m really sad that young women have been treated like female dogs and cats nowadays in some countries ( and I’m not a fan of removing healthy reproductive system on pets either ) .

Thanks for sharing your story. I am literally going through this process right now. I have pmdd (not diagnosed) and I have precancerous lesions and they recommend LEEP which I really don’t want to do since there’s a possibility of the cancer coming back and spreading and I also don’t want children. I’m 27 and live in Texas so I’m really hoping I can find someone within the next year.

What is LEEP? I've never heard of that. Yes hopefully you can find something soon! It sucks trying to find the right doctor.
@LeighAnnMiller

@@sarahsession4657 it stands for Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure. A LEEP is a procedure to remove abnormal tissue from your cervix. It may be done to confirm a cancer diagnosis or treat precancerous conditions of your cervix. During a LEEP, a thin wire loop is used to cut out abnormal tissue. The problem I have with it is some women end up having to go back multiple times or even end up having to go in and get a hysterectomy anyways. Also they don’t put you out for it and local anesthetic doesn’t always work well on me. I feel like cancer is nothing to play with and I don’t want to risk anything if I don’t have to. So hopefully I can find a dr that will do a hysterectomy for me instead.

Omg that sounds horrible 😳 I don't blame you for wanting to go straight to the hysterectomy! Keep digging around for doctors!

I had a ablation and it failed after 6 years. I'm going to have a laparoscopic hysterectomy next month

Thanks for making a video on this. Visibility in women’s health is severely lacking. Pretty much everywhere. I have been looking for a more permanent solution for my chronic anemia due to heavy menstrual bleeding. I am worried I might be at risk for reproductive cancers since it runs in my family to have endo. I managed to avoid endo/possibly reverse it with lifestyle changes. I am way too young for any surgeon to agree to take take put my uterus. Maybe I can have the same luck as you when I go to my gp for advice. My chronic low blood volume is becoming a big problem for me. I already know my heart is not dealing with it well. Constant low bp and anemia isnt good. I also don’t respond to supplements since iron isnt the problem. sigh… Canadian health care. Pls be good to me.

If you join the Nancy Nook group and search for Florida, some doctors should pop up. I saw Dr. Caceres in Kissimmee. There is also Dr. Nash Moawad in Gainsville, Dr. Michael Fox in Jacksonville, and Dr. James Kondrup in Tampa.

Hey. I could use help in talking to this girl i know with PCOS. she refuses to seek treatment and she's like ridiculous about things. she's refusing everything. i have tried talking to her and got no where. She's on birth control which is actually making her situation worse. I want her to get help but she all leave me alone. all i can do is true but i'm getting nowhere.

I don't know too much about PCOS tbh but if she doesn't want help there's not much you can do. I think the only people that could get through to her are people that also have PCOS or a doctor that's very educated on it.
