Hi akansha! I was being super confused about whether I should move to australia or canada for masters then I found your video. As you have been to both the countries, is it totally impossible to get PR in australia? I'm from IT background and I have heard that job market in canada is not good also everything is super expensive. Also the cold weather scares me. Therefore still confused. Please give me an insight of which country should I choose for masters so that later I can find jobs easily in my field and also PR..

Hey! It’s not impossible but it’s definitely more difficult to get PR in Australia. As a student, I would suggest Australia is better because minimum wages are higher and you can afford the high cost of living, whereas in Canada the wages are low and cost of living is high so working on minimum wage (part time hours) would not be ideal. And then if you see yourself not getting PR in Australia, you can always apply in Canada and move later like I did. That’s my two cents but I’d suggest to consider your personal circumstances and do your own research before settling for any of the two countries.

Hey Akansha, I was in the same situation as you, but I only completed my Bachelor’s, havent got a master’s yet. So I applied to study for a postgrad cert. Im thinking to try the express entry route , using my work experience (more than 5 years) in research assist. Do you think it is plausible, for is it only possible after I have a master’s program? Is it worth putting in my express of interest for the program?

Very insightful. Just curious, why didn't you consider New Zealand. It is right next door to Aus and I think their immigration sys is liberal too (idk just assuming) and you could be very close to Aus too.
@Whatsnextakanksha2 жыл бұрын
Ahh NZ is another story altogether haha. It’s more different to get PR there. I have a few friends and everyone is in a similar boat :)
@Truzerk11 ай бұрын
Yes earlier to get PR in New Zealand was tougher but now it is easy to get for master degree holders. Just require 6 points 5 from master degree and 1 from 1 year of job. New Zealand is amazing country to work and to do job. It have best work life balance in the world.

A nail biting experience. Covid played a trick on everybody. Toronto is a fine city. Bit over crowded for my taste. Winter is coming. As long as you dress well absolutely no problem. You don't spend whole day outside unless you are an outside worker. It never bothered me a bit.🤣😂. I ski in the winter as well as ice fish.
@Whatsnextakanksha2 жыл бұрын
Haha that’s super cool! I want to learn skiing and I want to ice skate as well. I obviously don’t plan on staying out all day but yes will be planning some winter hikes so hopefully it will all be good. Toronto is temporary though, I want to move to BC if possible 😇

Hi Akansha nice video I would like to know in regards to the application like i have my girlfriend as well with me in uk and I am planning to apply for pr should i apply under a spouse application or just apply on my behalf alone because we aren’t married yet just wanted to know your opinion on this please thank-you.
@Whatsnextakanksha2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks a lot. I chose to add my partner (not married) in the application as a common law partner. It’s up to you whether you want to get PR with your partner or without. I was told to apply single and then once I get ITA to add my partner but I didn’t agree. I wanted us to be in the same application so we applied together under the same application.

Have been taking notes from your Australian experience till now. Very happy to see you have found your way to Canada. My question: is the work scenario better in Canada compared to Australia, and does PR help in getting a better pay, opportunities, standard of life ?
@Whatsnextakanksha2 жыл бұрын
Aw thank you. I am glad my videos are of help. Here are my thoughts until now: 1. Job opportunities are more in Toronto but the hiring process is super slow & long. 2. Being a PR gives you a little of leverage over temporary visa holders (not always) as companies prefer PR holders as there is no requirement for future work sponsorship 3. There is no difference in pay or standard or life. It depends on experience and individual :)
