I'm happy that you are undectable and that your medicine is working but please don't give out false information. Having a undectable status DOES NOT MEAN that you don't have HIV in your system. HIV is very much still in your system . Your viral load load is low enough to not he detected ( Thank Goodness) BUT it is still there. You STILL have to practice safe sex because even if you are undectable, you can contract a more aggressive strain of HIV that will cause your medications to stop working. With much love. You’re 100% right. There are over 60 different strains that exist. You’re also correct about HIV not being in your system even if you’re undetectable. Being undetectable means that the amount of virus in a person's system is too small too detect. CDC now says an undetectable HIV positive person can not transmit the virus. But I think it is very irresponsible to make people think you can not pass on the virus. I think there is always a chance and you shouldn't take the risk and fully inform all partners

Undetectable means it is still in your system however it is stored in the lymph nodes. Undetectable per medical professionals just means it cannot be passed (allegedly) however typically there are still a few copies of the virus somewhere in the body. If it was not in the body at all that would mean HIV would be cured and it would be the most wonderful day!
