Hi! I saw that you tried to emphasize your english fluency in your personal essay. I'm currently writing about how moving to the states was hard for me, who had zero english skills, but being involved in school music activities helped me to adjust. Do you think it is a good idea to emphasize the fact that I struggled in English?? My gpa is high enough but my act score is currently at 30 so I'm not sure if I should "emphasize" my English again in the essay.

Hey! So I can't guarantee what essay topic will be best for you, since I am not a part of the admission office. I do think that the topic of adapting in the States and overcoming a language barrier is a cliché topic among international students. It really depends on how you write it. I didn't emphasize how I overcome English, I just used that as a launchpad that influenced my passion for being a creative person. Also, it is good to have the "highest" score, but a 30 on the act isn't bad and won't break you.

thanks for the support! I also am coming from a middle-class international family and I think Emory is definitely expensive. However, it's up to you to make the best out of its resources and connections.

YES! The admission process is holistic and if your school's transcript mentions the school's ap system, they will take that into account :)

Bruh you only have to take 6 aps through HS for Emory when I’m taking 5 in one year and I’m in georgia

My hs LIMITED the number of aps that we can take per year bc it was so small, which I wrote it on my application. So Emory, being holistic in the admission process, took that into account. Bruh.
