Thank you so much for sharing your origin story! These are great tips! I especially liked how you covered imposter syndrome (and ways you navigated through it) and the importance of exploring internships and/or research assistant positions in college. I am currently in graduate school and we just covered imposter syndrome in a professional development class. It is real and actually quite common. Learning ways to work through it is key to grow in one’s professional journey. Thanks for talking about all of this! Looking forward to your next video!

What a cool journey! Though as someone living outside of the US, interships have quite a negative connotation here. Did yours pay enough to live off, or was it necessary to support your self with secondary employment.

OMG, Imposter Syndrome is real. I'm so glad that you shared this. I'm a graduate student at Embry-Riddle and I have a DBA with a Specialization in Computer Science and numerous Tech certifications. I didn't feel comfortable until I made a network with other women and men in the industry. Networking and finding Mentors in the industry is Paramount. Great attitude and enthusiasm is key to your first internship. 😊

But didn't you leave that job to be a content creator? 😂

Hi! Thanks for being here. A few things! 1) This was my first dream job in space. I’ve had several since then, all amazing and unique in their own way, including science communication. Which leads me to 2) I talk about this in my video back in February, but I left my industry job to be a science communicator/content creator because I saw a gap that I could fill - helping people understand the value of space in order to help get more talent, funding, and political support for the technologies that help humanity so much. So while the answer to your question is technically yes, there is nothing wrong or less about what I’m currently doing!! The great thing about space right now is you don’t have to be in a traditional engineering role like my first dream job, there is something for everyone.

@@TheGalacticGal I didn't say there was anything wrong or less, was just being lighthearted. I subscribed and left a comment for the algorithm because I reckon we need more channels like yours on social media 🙏
