This is incredibly helpful. I have an almost three year old and I’m having the same issues. I will have to try this!

This is so encouraging, thank you. My son has just turned 2 and is exactly the same- will only eat purées, toast and Apple! He has recently started getting interested in helping me in the kitchen and so I'm really hoping he will start trying some of the meals he is making with me. 🙏🏻 So pleased that James will try lots of new things now, that is really great news 😀

H S c the same here. I have to involve him in what I do in the kitchen, but I don’t like cooking and rarely cook proper meals...

This video gave me such a relief tbh. Im dealing with the same issues with my two year old. Im going to try involving him in cooking and apply the same technique.

Well done Ysis! I'm so happy that James is now eating well. My eldest child was such a fussy eater and it was such a stressful period. Fast forward years later she is such a great eater. I shared my tips on my success on my channel. I think what I did also helped prevent my other 2 kids from becoming fussy eaters. Great vid👌🏾💖💖

I'd like to share my story, from a different perspective. My 9 month old eats (and, more importantly, enjoys) nearly anything I offer her, including fermented foods like sauerkraut and kimchi. How did we achieve this? I love to cook delicious, flavorful foods. From the very start I would wear her while I cooked and baked, and she loved having a front seat view of the show. When she began showing interest in foods, I offered her only flavorful soups that i would want to eat, like pear potato and leek, roasted red pepper and tomato, etc. I began layering on strong flavors like curry powder into butternut squash or garlic into spinach and zucchini. I never gave her the opportunity to know that food can be bland. At 7 months we introduced a tiny pinch of chili pepper into her sweet potatoes and offered yogurt to cool her mouth between bites. (She cried if we offered too much at once, but willingly leaned into each bite we offered) We offer salty cheese intermixed with bites of sweet melon. I talk to her about the food she's eating, what the flavors are like and what the sensations are like in her mouth. I see this as a crucial step in her education, and by doing this I hope to mostly avoid the fussy eater toddler phase. This essentially is the French method of introducing food to babies, and I've found it to be extraordinary! Note that until now I did not mention nutrition. That's because of you cook good food with fresh ingredients, the nutrition will follow. It's very freeing :)

I think it's luck as well, I've never given my son pouches and did baby led weaning from the beginning, home cooking nutritious food from the start and my son is 19 months old now and still refuses to eat quite a lot of the time, especially anything green!
@miwoot3 жыл бұрын
I did this with my son and he is now against food completely except for grilled cheese sandwiches. Your child may very well switch quite easily. Just be thankful. Typical French way of life is to gloat and think that you are better than everyone. You haven't offered another perspective. You have simply just tried to rub everyone's faces in it. Why were you even watching this video if you are soooo successful? Gosh typical parent trying to show that they have everything perfectly worked out. So bloody annoying.

@@miwoot May I ask how old is your son now? With regard to the grilled cheese monodiet, what if you lived in a country like Taiwan where grilled cheese is an irregular food that is harder to come by? Would he go hungry? Young kids only know the food we present to them. I've made grilled cheese for my daughter once, and she liked it, but I've never made it a regular meal item. I made spaghetti and meatballs for the first time the other night, and noticed how much she liked the spaghetti especially, but the moment she shows that she starts liking something (that's not a vegetable) too much, I switch it up. That way she can't get stuck on any one thing. I won't let it happen. Also she eats only 3-4x a day so when mealtimes come around, she's good and hungry (always feed fruit and/or veg first when she's most hungry) and is less likely to turn her nose up at what I've prepared. And if she does? No problem, the meal is over and another good meal is just 4 hours away (unless it's bedtime). If she doesn't eat we never make a big deal about it, and she eats more at the next meal to make up for it. I know toddlers become pickier at a certain age, but it's also more under our control than we give ourselves credit for.

@@ZagnutBar my son is 2 in a couple of weeks. At the moment he has leukemia which has completely changed his appetite. I either give him what he wants or he won't eat and that causes a magnitude of medical issues. So yes, if he was in a country where grilled cheese sandwiches were not an option he would go hungry. Again thanks for showing the perfection that is your way of feeding your child. It doesn't actually work for fussy eaters. 🤷♀️
@ZagnutBar3 жыл бұрын
@@miwoot I am sorry to hear about your son's leukemia. I can't imagine what that must be like to bear. My advice of course is not for you. It's for parents who have children with non-medically impacted appetites, who have not considered that there's a better way to approach food. I wish you and your son health and happiness together.

This video is helpful. So did you just offer the same dinner every day until they started eating it all? Or did you change it up? Im trying to work of getting my lo to eat bread, or sandwiches. I'm going to keep offering it and hopefully she will try it.

I am experimenting the same with my soon to be 2 years old. Question how much did your son weight? Around the time he only ate the pouches? I am overly worried but your video made me see we are not the only ones dealing with picky eaters. Thank you!

I'm struggling with my one yr old now so worried about him being hungry makes me feel better I am definitely going to try some of your advice and try to stay positive! My son throw tantrums sometimes when I try to feed him it's very stressful. I know we will hopefully get somewhere soon !

It’s like I expected a magic answer to make baby’s eat but it’s true we can’t give into what they want and we must be consistent but also let them feel like they have some control. My 2 yr old won’t eat anything but strawberries cheese and pasta! I hope this helps me!

Hello, Lorenna! I found ur channel 1,5 month ago when i had been looking for a good stuff to improve my English listening and make my study a little bit easier with KZbin. Firstly, i wathed ur video about learning English and follow ur channel. But after i understood that topic of ur channel is baby theme and the same things. I enjoy to watch ur videos cause ur English are pretty understandable and u are awesome person so it's pleasure to watch them despite the topic u would choose. But Please can u make another content too, maybe some more information about different parts of ur life, work, routine, experience of learning/using English, ur Homeland and other. It will be great to learn more about u and watch different videos. With love from Russia!
