Can't get them in the UK. I have a gsd . Beautiful dog. Highly intelligent and learns easily, but, I seem to have hit a plateau with her training. She seems to be going backwards 😂. She will sit and stay and was doing really well,but recently she refuses to stay for more than a few seconds. If she thinks I'm walking too far away,she follows . She also seems to be becoming quite timid and nervous. Is this possibly because she's hitting her teenage phase? She's 10 months and a gentle soul. Can you do a video advising on this phase please?

I used to watch your videos when my dog was a young adult. I’m watching all the content creators I used as a reference to train my dog 11 to 8 years ago (it helps me with the grieving) He passed away last month. He was a good boy. I miss him. I watched dog behavioralist videos for 2 years before I got him. That turned out to be an enormous benefit for me and him. The one thing I completely overlooked was disease and illness. I was lucky that he had no serious health issues up until 3 months ago, but things went down hill so fast i wasnt prepared for it. Now i feel like I have to learn about diet, sickness, medicine, and rehabilitation before i get another dog.

i love that youre coming out with healthy treats. Ive been feeding my dogs raw since the day they came home to me at 7 weeks and 13 weeks old. i love freeze dried or dehydrated meats and organs. ill even use freeze dried raw food as treats. freeze dried or dehydrated lungs, liver, hearts, shrimp, fish, etc. a healthy diet is also linked to behavior and training. healthy dogs seem to learn faster.

I hear that! My whole family thinks that I'm extreme in the way I am about dogs and how horrible kibble is! I believe that every dog should be eating the way it was meant to "Raw " ! I love the way how the message is finally reaching the world ; that kibble is not beneficial for anyone but the pockets of the big kibble companies! Kudos Tom ! I am definitely pleased to hear you are not afraid to talk about starting from a place of nothing ! You worked hard and made it work because you stayed true to yourself and you never strayed from your path ! You haven't forgotten about the hard times! I am gonna say that my raw fed gsd will not focus on food a lot, and I use freeze dried liver, and I am definitely trying to get him more into it ! He wasn't trained with a lot of food but I wish he had some more food training ! I did it for a while when he was a puppy! I wish now that he had more of it but back then, I didn't know what to do as far as training. Off leash k9 trained him and it is clear that now he should've had more luring too with his training! That would've been a perfect balance ! I think he would have gotten better balanced training if they were that kind training place!

You are in a controlled environment. When I take my Hound/Shepard out for a walk she is hyper focused on scents. Nose to the ground. Rescue from Kentucky. Think she was bred for hunting/tracking. Got her at 9 months not even house broken. Not food motivated. She's sees a squirrel, cat, another dog off to the races. I can have my dog do a lot of commands inside with treats.

Same with my 16 months old Rottweiler. All the smells and distractions really interrupt things. And when these online trainers say "train them in a variety of environments gradually upping the distractions and shortening the distance", lemme tell ya... I've been training my pup using their methods every day indoors and outside for over a year. I put my time and effort in. Yet, he's still not as good as Burleigh here. I feel defeated.

Had an instructor who had a rescue Beagle. The only thing that got his nose off the ground was roast beef. My high prey drive Dobe does Barn Hunt and we just started an agility foundations class - both loving it! Younger Dobe does Nose Work. Check out Baebae's training if interested in competing. She's an actual judge and even her puppies are winning titles in Nose Work. Hope that helps.

My dog doesn't care about what I have in my hands. If he doesn't want to do something - he won't do it, no matter what. Very dominant and stubborn. Well....a working line GSD x Doberman mix ain't no joke.

Do you have him on a prong collar? If not you should get one and learn how to use it. I have 2 small dogs a stubborn cocker spaniel and a mini pinscher. Highly food motivated dogs but I only use treats to reward behavior after they've learn them through leash pressure. I use praise and rubs to reward them during training.

To communicate effectively with a reactive cocker spaniel no amount of positive only training will work. They need balanced training. Anyone who says otherwise doesnt own a cocker spaniel

I love your videos and I’ve learned so much about training! However, I do not train with liver treats since my girl already gets liver and other secreting organs mixed into her raw food that I prep for her. Are you going to do other proteins perhaps that I could use? Wouldn’t want my dog to get Vitamin A toxicity or loose stools from too much liver.

I’m so glad you did this video for us. After watching it was like a lightbulb clicked on for me. I’ve been working with my four year old rescue ABT mix. After each sit or stay I reward him with a treat too small to break into pieces. Well after a ten minute session he probably gets in excess 12 to 14 treats. Then when he goes out to do his business I’ve noticed his stool is loose. I will be buying your treats now. It’s probably a tasty treat for my food motivated dog but cost effective for me being one treat goes a long way. I’ll let you know what “Rocky” thinks of them. 😊❤️🙏🏼

I freeze mine in little chunks. I freeze them on a baking sheet and then transfer to a container frozen.

​That would be okay if you're constantly washing your hands, but cross contamination can spread easily with frozen raw meats. Freeze drying would eliminate some, but not all of the hazards, by eliminating water.

Hi Tom , Burleigh is looking beautiful, I have a 10 month old boy myself Zeus , his such a lover but has recently become reactive to strangers and to my two Pekingese and redirects his aggression towards the bigger Pekingese, now I literally have to separate my home because they can't be around each other because the Pekingese constantly snaps at him and he flips a switch and wants to attack , any advice, I did have a behaviour specialist come over and she says I should put him on a calming collar and socialise him more and that I should also have all three males neutered

Most beef liver treats have a maximum recommendation of 10% of the dogs diet. Two cup per day diet is 1 liver treat(I cut into 3 pieces). Not going to last long
