I had muffler welded, did gasket seals, accumulator, motor n transmission mounts. 180,000 miles and been a great car. Sat for about a year n half cause I was deployed but started right up and has been good since

That broken spark plug wire was sparking, when you were testing the ignition. Just stick it back in, it should still jump spark.

The fuel pump doesn't pump when you are cranking the engine. Cycle the key on and off a few times to get fuel pressure.

Mike, a lot of effort and time put on it, but result is undoubtable, nice work 🙂 BTW, I hope it was all of the rats which lived there, but I still would put some traps just to be sure inside of the facade garage as it was often with open doors. That plug wire you said is not getting spark was sparking to the motor when you had your spark tester on the other plug wire and turning it over. Check the video! I saw that broken wire spark before your tester. lol. Congrats on getting the old car to run again. I have a 97 e320 I had sitting for a while now and need to get it running again. Thanks for the ideas! I will break out my cameras etc and do the same. It was running perfectly when I parked it a year ago. It ran fine a few months ago when I tested it. Then the trickle charger got unplugged and now it is dead. Time to bring mine back to life now too after watching this it gave me the motivation to get it going, thanks!

I think after you get that spark plug wire replaced and the vacuum lines replaced things will run well. I've been working on my '70 280s fuel system. I've changed a lot of the fuel lines and filter. Mine has a mechanical fuel pump, and i hope to get things finished tomorrow. It's getting cold here in Colorado, so working in an unheated storage unit isn't the best. Great video!!
