Good luck, I too am considering a regional at late life (60!), nice to see an older person blogging as opposed to all the young ATP school people.

I'm almost done with training at my airline and there are more people in our position than you'd think. Good luck to you in whatever you decide!

Thanks! I remember telling you that someday I would be a pilot when we worked at the fire station years before I started flight school. I was super jealous of your flying.

@@pilotjamie1176 I also remember the conversation. Your ability to learn and focus yourself to new things/careers is impressive and inspiring. Don't forget I also pointed un the direction of Kyle and his school. It looks like that decision worked out for the best. I'll check in with Kyle to collect some kind of referral reward 😜

They automatically assign upgrade at my company at 1000 hours SIC, so I will go for captain. But I do plan on applying to southwest at that time as well. That is my end goal company. I plan on staying here until I can get on with them. Currently at 560 SIC time.

First let start by saying I know this video is already a year old, so I hope you see this and respond. I am in a similar situation, I am a bit older and have my ppl looking to start instrument in the next month. I was wondering how you financed your training. If that is too personal or you don’t wish to discuss in this open of a forum I totally understand. TIA

I worked full time as a paramedic. Grabbed every extra shift I could. If I didn't get the OT I didn't get to fly. Took me a bit longer, but came out debt free.

Thanks for the quick response, and am glad to see you following and accomplishing your dreams.

Very cool story. I’m also hoping to switch careers at some point but also coming to the game late (47). I have PPL and Instrament rating complete and getting ready to start commercial training.
