He's right that no one knows about the airline industry. I had no idea. Who knew just going to my local airport and getting setup that i could start learning there? My first flight lesson is in 3 days. 🙌🏼

@Redline29827 it went great! We practiced landings on my second day and my instructor said I'm picking things up really quick. Did my 3rd lesson a couple of days ago with emergency procedures and I did the radio calls. About to head out this morning to get my 6th hour of flying before work.

Fantastic video. As a teacher I come across students interested in becoming a pilot and there are so many direction to take. Videos and interviews like this have helped me provide them with a better understanding of the pathway. Also excited to share with them the people and stress aspects of such a neat career.

I’m not a huge podcast listener, but this was impressive. Phillip truly demonstrates what it means to be a professional. Very inspiring as I grind through instrument/commercial.

Great video! I was fortunate enough to have flown with Philip many years ago in the corporate side of aviation. Truly a professional both in the aircraft and the training environment as well. So much great info is shared in this interview, and there are many things that can be learned from him just as I did early on in my career. Great job!

Great episode. Really appreciate the insights outside of the flight deck provided. I think the emphasis on your “attitude” towards all those things making or breaking your job was critical. For me personally, I definitely don’t find socializing and “putting myself out there” to be a strong suit, but the fact that you guys broke it down was very pleasant and encouraging. Cheers!

What a great video. Can’t wait to have my son watch it. He said he wants to be an airline pilot. I hope all airline pilots are just like this Captain.

Communications between pilots and ATC are so fast that it at times, it opens the door to possible incursions. They need to take the extra 2 seconds and slow er down.

You need to stop talking over the guest, man. Be patient. It seems like you're just trying to get to what you want to ask instead of having a genuine conversation.

Editor's Note: Hey! Just wanted to jump in here. We do edit out some of the pauses, so it might seem a little more fast-paced than the actual conversation. And you're right, sometimes when people are excited, they naturally talk over each other. It's part of keeping it lively! Thanks for the feedback!

I wouldve liked to know what he misses about being a corporate pilot if any. Like were the hours slightly better or the workload or the fact that he didnt have a large flight crew. Just some of the things he misses about that.

In corporate aviation you go to little off the beaten path airports which can be really cool and the close interaction with passengers….. most of the time 😊
