Hi Steve, You probably want to get some of that black corrugated wire loom around that red positive line where it is going over those frame rails. The wire WILL chafe and eventually short to the grounded frame otherwise. Interesting video. Keep 'em coming. 73s de N6UGP

nice install . That Windynation wire is great. Has the UL and heavy duty insulation. That one of the brands I use. All of my installs are UL wire and terminals . The separate ground is ground only. safety ground. This makes it so a 12V POS ground can be used or floating ground system. In a off grid cabin the Battery system may not be grounded . Low voltage systems do not need ground, But metal frame on appliance does need a safety ground. Shock hazard, May have inverter to make 120/240 V or static buildup from weather or thunderstorm. Most systems are 12V NEG ground. But some Trucks are POS ground . They make 24V and 48V DC models as well. Direct DC compressors are more efficient. Brushless DC motor tech . Look what it did to cordless tools like DeWalt and Milwaukee .

Thanks for the tip. I wish the manual would have called it safety ground. It would have made more sense.

If the manufacturer left the pex, maybe they left some connectors somewhere in there. I could of used the pex at Huntsville since I had some flexible tubing under the sink decide to burst. Had to run down to Lowes for some tubing and connectors. I already had the crimp tool and clamps. I see the tea kettle on the stove. Might I suggest you get an electric water kettle to heat your water. Save your propane for something else.

We haven't even used the kettle, that belongs to the missus. 😇

Fridge cooling in hermetically sealed to the outside (soldered) so a "leaking seal" won't get into your food.

Hi, great vid. I'm curious after you run it for a while how dialed in you can get.(temperature wise) The thermostat and conrol board in a lot of these 12 volt ice boxes have a tendency to be a bit wonky. Thanks for the info.

I have a thermometer that I keep in the fridge and it has been steady. I'm pretty shocked.

RF ground to keep it from noising up your radios? :-D
Does Mike come with the fridge installation or is that extra?

The Mike option is very expensive

We just bought this fridge and returned the 1st one that wouldn't work and received the new one, and still not working.

Sorry to hear that. Mine has been great so far.

Some of these 12v refrigerators (as on my trailer) have a hidden fuse underneath, in case you need to know someday. It's from the refrig mfg, not the rv mfg.

We have a Norcold absorption 'not a fridge'. It's dreadful, everything about it is terrible. I really must upgrade.
@livingforalivingRV4 ай бұрын
I've heard those are "Neither hot Norcold"! We had a dometic version of the same thing and it was ok except for the defrosting all over the sponge wood they install in RVs. So far (3 months in) this thing has been great - and it even runs from the battery while we travel so the food continues to stay cold!
