The best product I have ever used was La Roche Posay Cicaplast! I had a lot of acne years ago and had to take Accutane pills and that was brutal. Basically one of the side effects is that you stop producing oil so my skin got so dry and my lips were bleeding all the time! I legit couldn't smile because the corner of my lips would slice open!!! Someone told me to use Cicaplast and it was a game-changer. It healed my skin super quickly and now every time I have dry skin (or I pop a pimple) I use this product and it heals my skin overnight! It also works if you have recent acne scars too!!

@@maryparent9573 Well I'm not from the USA and I pretty much tried everything before using Acutane and nothing else worked. When my doctor talked to me and my parents about it he made sure to also talk about the side effects and he also made sure I didn't have any mental illnesses like depression since it can definitely make it worse. My doctor also prescribed the minimum amount instead of just giving me the amount for my weight and it was the right choice because I didn't need a bigger dose) Personally, I didn't have bad thoughts or anything similar to depression when taking Acutane, but my mom did tell me I was a bit more emotional, nothing too extreme lol The only thing I had wished to know was that some of the side effects would permanently change my skin. I used to have oily skin and even though it has been years since I took Acutane, I now have very dry skin (not just my face but my entire body) and it gets really bad during winter.

GET A SAFETY RAZOR. They're 1)Aesthetically pleasing, 2) Better for the environment, and 3) Cheaper. You can get one with a wooden handle and a box of blades online for around 7 euro.

It requires a bit more time and attention to shave this way, but I think it is less hard on the skin, because you are not yanking on the hair with the multiple blades. I STAYYYY out here shaving my face. I'm a woman, but y'all... EVERYONE should be shaving their face. I watched a legitimate dermatology video about how serums and products will absorb into the hair instead of fully into your skin. So shaving helps with eliminating dead skin cells and the penetration and absorption of skin care products. It makes sense if you think about it. Plus, it helps with make up application and duration. Also, I highly recommend looking into a metal razor! Saves on plastic and on cash cause you don't have to repurchase the razor.
@MariannesStudio4 жыл бұрын
I heard about this, but have heard dermatologists advice caution because if your skin has imperfections, pimples etc you could cause yourself an infection by shaving atop that. I tend to have quite a bit of acne but I hear it works wonders if your skin is quite clear 😊
@TiaSchmidt4 жыл бұрын
@@MariannesStudio Soooo true! I don't have the clearest skin (acne, PD, etc.) and find if I shave lightly, it actually works as an exfoliant and helps my acne, BUT that's absolutely something to keep in mind! Everyone's skin is different. When in doubt, always reach out to a professional!
@TrangNguyen-vj9mj4 жыл бұрын
Tia Schmidt I’ve done that and got acne. I did clean the razor, wash my face before and after shaving. Guess my skin isn’t meant to be shaved:/
@gabrielaribeiro61554 жыл бұрын
Not everyone should be shaving their face. There are plenty of people who have sensitive skin and should not do any type of physical exfoliation (which shaving is, as it physically removes superficial skin cells). Also, as others have said, if one has imperfections on their skin like pimples, shaving could worsen the problem, by infecting it or even by cutting your skin and effectively damaging it further. There are plenty of products that will have the same results you mention without having such a high risk of damaging your skin, like chemical exfoliants, certain toners/serums that contain ingredients that react with your skin and make it absorb other skin products better, and also some moisturizers/makeup primers. Of course, if one wants to start a skin care routine the best would be to go to a dermatologist and ask for help. But if one doesn't have the means to do so, there are plenty of people online who are willing to give their professional advice, like Dr. Dray, Dr. Davin Lim, and Cassandra Bankson (also Hyram, although not a professional, does have very sound advice)

Maybe it's just me, but I'm hyper-vigilant about keeping it as natural as possible for my skin (also, we "ingest" these things through our skin). So, well, for almost 10 years I've used this for my facial skin: extra virgin coconut oil, sometimes olive oil. Both work great for make-up removal as well! Works perfectly fine for me - I just moisten my skin a little before gently applying so it sinks in faster. Not intending to brag but will be 40 this year and people often guess me at 25 - just happened today 😆 Well, I guess there's other factors for that, too...

French skincare is nothing to be raved about, it's pretty much old wives tale and I am French so I know what I am talking about. Compositions are usually very basic (which isn't bad by any mean) but they sure are cheap when it comes to actives, they usually don't put any or very watered down versions. And mineral water do nothing for your skin apart from drying it if you don't put moisturizer on right after (or else, transpidermal water loss) Good skin equals retinol/tretinoin. and sunscreen.

And do I have to reming you that the sheer fact that Asians use sunscreen heavily is in itself one of the most powerful anti-aging thing you can do? This is a fun video, first of yours I’m seeing. I’d totally watch more. Tiny bit of advice I’ve learned,- when dropping serums onto the face don’t let the dropper touch your skin, like at all. What happens is bacteria and even other products are being gathered on the tip. Now it’s not the biggest deal but give a week or two or ten and unless you are disinfecting the dropper, the bacteria is still there. Those products are so concentrated that you can totally put them in your hand first. I know every beauty blogger does this and even company’s instas show this technique but it’s just a marketing thing, it looks more visually appealing but it’s inviting bacteria growth. The same reason we wash a towel is the same reason we should disinfect the dropper, or just don’t put it in contact with our skin. I hope this is helpful :)

Hi fellow la Roche posay addict! That’s my absolute favourite brand since I was a teenager and I still use the same products to this day. That anthelios spf brings back some memories 😂 Omg, you know you’re a skincare freak when a product defines a period of your life lmao. Btw Damon, you’re really not aging! There must be a very hideous painting hidden somewhere in your apartment 👀

The Ordinary is part of a much bigger company, their order quantities of the formulas from the suppliers makes it very easy for them to sell at a competitive price, but that benefits us consumers anyway, I love the Ordinary btw!

I’m one of the 2 men that watch this channel, and currently studying in Paris for the semester because of you and this channel. I used disposable razors, but I ditched the clean shaving cause it always irritates my skin. Using an electric shaver is the way to go

Damon you're absolutely right on the La Roche Posay, i tried just the creme alone after watching your video and the difference was huge. My skin has actually been improving ever since to the point people have commented on it. I'm tempted to try your full routine sometime. Anyways thanks for the tips!! Amazing video!!

i wouldn't recommend Toms toothpaste, it doesn't have Fluoride which is a vital mineral for teeth and teeth health! please consider! :) look into fluoride and teeth health. i used to use toms (for about a year) and in the long run, it didn't help my teeth enamel or prevent cavities, it especially didnt help me shield from coffee and wine stains. my dentist even noticed enough of a change to ask if i changed my diet/toothpaste/habits *edited for spelling

I was waiting for the SPF step. If there is one thing to add to your skin care routine- it's the SPF. That is what helps you look younger longer!

I had to comment cause I was able to watch the whole video without fast forwarding it or speeding it (and i don't even put stuff that have been tested on animal on my skin so exept the ordinary i didnt get much from it) but its incredible you are not boring at all or talking to much how nice lol !

How I look young: Step 1: be young Step 2: repeat step 1 until you’re actually old Seriously a 28 year old acting like they have wrinkles is hiiiiiilarious like honey you have a rude awakening coming in 10-15 years

Collagen production slows in your early 20s so to say your "aging" in your late 20s would be correct because when collagen production slows the aging process starts...
@stevenrobinson77224 жыл бұрын
steph soppanish That’s kinda presumptive. You can’t say what anyone in their late 20’s or any age will look like in 10-15 years. People think my mum is my other sister she’s 53 my sister is 33. I get ID’d for alcohol and cigarettes I have to carry a passport about daily. I look the same as I did at 13 I’m 34. Late 20’s-30+ is the perfect age to be using these products that’s fact it’s scientifically proven, I am qualified in hairdressing and beauty I’ve done dermatology. The right products used daily help tremendously I started using skincare products when I was 19.

That was just fabulous! Thank you for sharing. I also have a few La Rosie Posay products in my arsenal, I’m here to say, well done for doing this routine when you are 28 and only one and a quarter wrinkles to tend. At my stage, after decades of neglect I’m loving embracing and experimenting with products and routines. No miracles but subtle improvements coming.

La Rouche Posay facial soup for oily skin is THE BOMB. When you wash your face and spreads it with a vegetal sponge(idk the name of it in English but it’s one of those kinda harsh sponges) you will be able to hear your skin thanking you
