I 100% recommend a rice cooker for your rice. Less plastic waste and it's dead simple: pour in half a cup of rice, a cup of water, press the button. THAT'S IT. No cleanup, it's all dishwasher safe, no sticky pans or having to babysit boiling water. As a lazy person, I love it. Damn I feel like an infomercial writing this but for real it's amazing.

I just now realized I didn't put any *before* pics and you know what, that's fine and in total alignment with the thought process in this video. As I said, I'm not a huge fan of the whole 😟 before 😞 and 🤪 AFTER 🤗 concept. I've always been fine with how I look bc I realized early on that what we find beautiful is all relative to the generation we grow up in anyway. Nonetheless, after the vegan meal plan, I did feel a whole lot stronger (and that felt good!)! I guess the entire point of what I'm writing is: I didn't *not* feel good before, but I felt *even better* after.

Hey Damon! Lil' tip for rice cooking, it has never failed me and it's quite the simplest way to make it - 2 cups of water per 1 cup of rice. Just bring water to a boil and add some salt and the rice. Then you just let the magic happen. Hope it helps and thanks for sharing your journey ✨

I am living in the UK and the grams makes so much sense because you can just pop the mixing bowl or pot on the scale instead of dirtying measuring cups. Less washing up and more precise. The tablespoon thing I think is more helpful if youre ok to eyeball a measurement. I know roughly what 1 tbsp of peanut butter is or any oil or sauce. But all peanut butter, oil and soy sauce all have different weights so would be harder to know what 15g of each looks like. Or if you want to be super precise for your snack youre going to need to use some utensil to get the peanut butter out so might as well use a tool that measures it perfectly and a scale can’t be used like that.

While I generally like the way this video is presented I must add a warning based on personal experiences. When I started tracking my calories/macros and went vegan, it eventually led to anorexia nervosa. Not everyone who is vegan and tracks their food will have an eating disorder but there are some people who are prone to it. So please, proceed with caution! I am in no way saying veganism or tracking food is bad, I just want to share my experience. I suppose it's good that he plugs BetterHelp because you might want to check your mental health before trying to change your body.

I'd like to go ahead and second this comment. I am a huge fan of Damon and have been for many many years and will continue to be obv! But I've recently just recovered from Anorexia Bullimia which arose through years of dieting and tracking calories/macros. It was a very difficult and scary journey, and as someone who comes from the toxic side of diet culture I'd just like to send out a cautious warning that videos like this could negatively affect many others going through the same struggle. I'm currently vegan (for moral and environmental reason) and fully believe you can be vegan without falling into disordered eating! I would just be careful when talking about limiting calories and food groups. It's important for everyone to remember that their life is more than just the shape/size of their body, you are worthy of lover and happiness regardless of physical appearance

Unfortunately tracking nutrients in food/labels/etc. does not actually work as most people imagine. You may be feeding your body certain nutrients but if you body does not want them it will not absorb them. Second, one bag of spinach may be 50 time more nutritious than another bag due to the soil it was grown in and if that soil had a good balance of nutrients (most are devoid of nutrients) and other factors. In our modern environment, people need to eat wayyy more calories to gain the same amount of nutrients and we would have needed to 50 years ago. Anyway, good quality whole foods are always good options.

I read a scientific paper (NO LIE!! ) that said potatoes can build muscle just as well as animal protein. Now while I as a diabetic can't fully follow this plan, I definitely incorporate a good portion of potatoes and they don't spike my blood sugar provided they aren't highly processed. I eat baked potatoes like nobody's business!! 😂😂 Eat well and pay attention to your blood sugar, and eat sources of good fat. I also understand the feeling of being full really fast, you do have to cram to meet your calories! At one point my calories weren't even enough to meet my daily bodily functions! Still fighting that, but I'm working;

I recommend a mini rice cooker or normal rice cooker either a Japanese or Korean brand. Simple measure rice with a cup, put equal amounts of water in, before that rinse water in rice and drain excess water then I would say 5-10 times, put in rice cooker. Press cooking and then it'll tell you when it's ready and there's a keep warm function. Usually rice is hood for several days❤

I started my weight loss and fitness journey at the very end of March/beginning of April. First month was tennis a couple of times a week, and since May I've been going to the gym twice a week, so eight weeks in a row completed today. I see a pretty big difference already, I was about 88-89 kilos at the beginning of the process and now I'm at 82-83 kg. I have a personal trainer, and I'd like to add that even though I could technically go to the gym alone and do the things he wants me to do, the joy I get in going to the gym is because I know I have someone I can talk to and ask questions. And even after 2 months my technique on certain things is still not perfect, so if you go to a gym without any guidance please do be careful and take care of yourself. I'll also add regarding cost that I live in Poland - I personally have a steal for my trainer, it's a nice recreation center that focuses on its pools, but it has a small gym, and central European countries like Poland and Czech Republic and Slovakia have a system called Multisport which your company provides you, and many places accept this card/have this system in place - basically, I go to the gym for free, and the hourly rate of my trainer through the gym is about 15 euros an hour if you buy a 10 hour package. It's 16 or 17 an hour without the package. It's a great price, many trainers at the big gyms in Poland will ask for 25-30 euros an hour (and for Poland that's a lot of money). Basically, if you live in central Europe, and you work for an international/private company, there is no reason to not take advantage. As for my diet/food, I don't really have a diet. I eat what I want, but I noticed I stalled at about 84/85 kg for awhile, so I've been eating out less and just reducing restaurants from 3-4 times a week to once a week has made a big difference already. I never thought I'd become a gym person, but for me, having a positive person to help me push through it, and he never pushes me to the extreme, has made the experience much better and I can enjoy it more that way. The gym isn't so bad at all, once it becomes a lifestyle habit, it's easy to maintain. I appreciated the video, thanks Damon.
