This is my absolute favorite haircut and I have asked over and over again and have never ended up with this cut. The best I've gotten was big chopped "line" layers. Yes, that was the best. The worst? Started with hair that touched my back pockets and ended up with hair that barely touched my shoulders. I will have to try cutting it myself after seeing this. I can totally relate, I had a bad hair cut about 10 days ago, I wish I could fix it but because she used shears (without asking me first)there isn’t much I can do as she removed approximately 30% of my hair 😥 all I can do is wait until it grows. One thing I know for sure, I will never go back to a hair salon, this terrible experience motivated me to learn to cut my own hair. So been watching lots of videos.

Holy cow! I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am that heaven made an angel like you. How ever you ended up finding this trick, thank you! I am so tired of spending $300 at the salon I finally bleached my hair and it came out fabulous. However, after one touch-up my hair went on strike. I wanted to tell you that I have been following your video for my last four cuts and it has made my hair look beautiful! I get compliments all the time! I have wavy hair so I blow dry and then add loose waves with my curling iron, but I could leave straight after drying if my hair was in better condition (I’m 72 and color my hair) The Cut before this last one I decided I would skip the third step (bang section) and it just didn’t look quite as good as it had, so yesterday I did the third section cut…very long…and now it looks great! So everyone, listen to everything she says and follow everything she does! I have never gotten a cut in a salon that I loved as much! Thanks so much for this video!

Just back here to update..... I have always been really reluctant to do anything to my hair but the ends were looking terrible and I needed to do something - I've just finished doing my "at home" trim and I'm really pleased with the results. It will keep the split ends at bay until I can get to a salon. Tip: When you cut, cut upwards towards the ceiling, so scissors pointing at 12 o'clock and cut into the hair. It gives a more blended look instead of a sharp blunt. Thank you so much for the tutorial! I feel SO much better now I've done my hair.

Omg! Wow! You did an excellent job of explaining and demonstration. This style is Soo beautiful an looks great on you. I'm wanting also to do the same as you. Keep some length but lose the dead ends. Never given myself layers br bcuz it was Soo difficult for me to judge placements and follow along with any videos. I've seen these hair tie hair cut videos br but, never thought they really worked. I suggest you use coated elastic bands instead of rubber bands as they are more gentle on your hair. Also cut above the band and not below since it makes cleaning up the hair you are cutting off easier (the hair you cut is kept togther by the band instead of falling loose on the floor). It's a lot easier to cut your hair if you use hair scissors, too, making sharper cuts and causing fewer split ends. Your tutorial was a good one and this cut is easy to do with great results. I've been doing mine for almost 10 years now and get compliments all the time.

If u have very thick hair..ponytail method is hard..my fingers wer sore cutting thru and turned out crooked. Spoilt my hair. Then i tried again. I made one ponytail then divided the ponytail into 5 ponytails.

Wish I had seen this video before I destroyed my hair... It was around waist length before I grabbed the scissors xD Advice, everyone: never cut your hair when you're upset and craving for change, always cut the hair when you're chill and happy, and never yolo or eyeball a haircut lol I should have overdirected to the front like you did.
