i am in the knee knocker phase as well. i realise if you pull the bike towards you with your front wheel high at balance point its less effort on the legs. it works for me tho its not the best method

How I get my leg over seat is I go past balance point and as I’m braking (softly) I put my leg to the other side. We all find our own way to do tricks so find what you feel comfortable with.
