I've used clips a few times in the past and gone back to standard pedals but after watching this going back to clips! cheers

Only ever ride SPD's now. Nukeproof Horizon pedals were a gamechanger after riding the smaller shimano Spd's. They give you all the confidence you need. Wouldn't ride any other way 😊😊
@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB Жыл бұрын
They really do! Way better with those pedals 👌

No problem hopefully the tips help! Oh great well you are off to good start with these pedals ;). Heheh the falls are the best part. Good laugh when learning!

That is totally bizarre. I fitted SPDs to my bike today. My first tootle about would have been as near as dammit the time you released this video. Perfect.

When I started riding clipless pedals about 25 years ago. I think it was slightly easier for me. As when I started mountain biking. I used the old toe clips and straps. They are evil. My issue is the other way round. After using clipless for as long as I have. I have decided to try using flats. Even though I use the small Crank Brothers Stamp pedals and Fine Ten Freerider shoes. It still scares me half to death when I try to lift the rear wheel and that's while wearing shin protection as well. The clipless pedals I use are the Crank Brothers Mallet E.

Oh I can’t imagine how it was with the toe clips 😅. Next level scary! It’s come a long way hasn’t it. Both flats and clips have their challenges and good points!

I have flats for 3 years now just started SPDs 6 weeks in and has a few little offs but always when trying to stop on a climb
@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB Жыл бұрын
The climbs are the hardest eh! Especially anything steep or technical 😅

I got the same pedals, it’s a git falling at slow speed in the winter mud 😂 haven’t fully work them in yet but I might try your tip of taking the pins out to make unclipping easier
@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB Жыл бұрын
Haha hard conditions to learn in the mud. It does help without the pins! Good luck 👊
@glennbroad2543 Жыл бұрын
This has helped loads with the pins removed, doing the jumps and features I normally do again while clipped in :)

I can definitely think of rides where I could have benefited from SPDs, but if you go OTB, you're not unclipping. Not that going OTB is something I do regularly, but I have zero interest in having my bike staying attached if I ever do.😅
@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB Жыл бұрын
Hehe I have seen some salmon moments in races with people flopping about attached. You can adjust them quite loosely if you want though which unclips easily. I can understand that though 😂

Must admit I'm a firm supporter of SPD peddles after riding them for 25 years....however when I had a massive otb a couple of years ago I went down with the ship and broke my neck amongst some other bits n pieces. Video available if you want to see. Now luckily I made a full recovery but I do wonder if I'd have kept with the bike for as long if I'd have been on flats. Of course I could have jumped off to the side and fallen 20ft ..... 🤔. So I am sticking with SPD's for the 99.99% of times I don't go otb 😜

What is the mobile chin mount for your helmet? Quality video as usual 👌🏻

Hey it’s a go pro chin mount from a company called R3pro. They make them custom for each helmet. Thanks! 🙌
