"Get a doggo" - This was one of my 2023 vision board goals, and given I ended up contracting (vs securing a FTE/perm role) I ended up organically launching a dogsitting business (with very cool digital customer experience - spillover from my career experience!). Ended up introducing us to a range of new doggy friends in our neighbourhood, many of whom have lovely owners who've also become friends! Vision board goals can sometime have unexpected (but equally great) outcomes. Having been through redundancy before, also know the next few months can be emotionally tumultuous - Take care of yourself, keep finding ways to feed your passions, creativity and skills, and you'll find unexpected gems in the process x

I love new year resolutions (or rather 2023 reflections and 2024 vision, goals, planning 😍). Last year I also ticked a lot on my vision board, bought a house and left my job to go full-time into entrepreneurship. I love that you’re thinking in terms of decades as well, I’m 31 years old and I do feel that after my 30s I became more intentional about « what do I want in the next 10 years and how does this year fit into achieving it». Building my own business to achieve more time freedom and financial freedom for me and my future kids were big reasons. I can’t wait to see what you do this year, looking forward to following along 😍

My motto for 2024 is one I came up with for the company I work for as a marketing manager, is to not tread carefully, but tread confidently. And I apply that to my personal life, particularly my internal dialogue, instead of treading carefully and worrying about what if I don't succeed, I'm stepping confidently into the directions that I want to go even though I'm not certain it will be successful, but like you said you have to start to be great ❤

Okay I LOVE this. I have a really detailed end of year review process and goal setting process too and I often get a bit of *side eye* for how intense it is from people, but UMMMM IT WORKS! Hey Chloe, can I ask how you envision your work-life balance goals will materialise in real workplace settings? As a PM, I agree I need to draw better boundaries in defining what is my problem to solve vs. what is not. That said, I believe I would still struggle to stand my ground on the hard cut-off at 5pm rule, especially when working in a company where there is a cultural expectation to take on meetings even when the timing isn't ideal. Sometimes I feel like there is an unspoken caveat that since you are paid well, you are expected to put in that extra mile for your work in return.

hmmm i mostly reflected off and on throughout the end of December. i did the "designing my life" exercise in taiwan and then i revisited by vision board end of dec. so maybe 2-3 weeks? it's mostly sporadic though. it's whenever i had a moment to spare. i also revised it a couple times to hone down what i really actually wanted.

Don't listen to them! i like doing new years resolutions at the end of each year like in November I start thinking about which goals were realistic. So like i said i wanted to do 300 workouts this year. Well im finding out that i can only do 3 workouts max per week. So a more realistic goal would be 150 workouts this year. So i've adjusted it. Once i'm strong enough to get the 150 workouts then im thinking increase it to 175 etc. and then eventually i might be able to get to the 300 mark. so its not like my goals are changing i'm just learning to get better at goal setting. Same with my budget. Last year i was focused on tracking , this year i set some budget goals but to meet those i have to stop amazon impulse buying and cut back on subscriptions. so yeah figuring it out lol.

I'm considering MBA, MBA Marketing, MSC in Computer Science, among others. I don't have an educational background in IT, but I've been working as a Technical Sales Executive for about 4 years.

hmm i honestly can't say since i've never done it myself. i have been to carnegie mellon to give a talk for their MS product management and their MBA programs. they're one of the first in the nation. my take is that the best way to learn is to do it on the job :/ getting that hands on experience is the best way!
