Great haul Caleb. Never found those sweaters before. One of my bucket list items. Also never heard of Flux. I'll be on the lookout now!

For Carhartt a medium is far more preferable than a 2XL. I'd much rather have a size small, with added bonus of it taking up less space and weighing less. Did a quick search to verify my gut feeling and here's what I found for average price of used men's Carhartt jackets: small $99, medium $97, large $88, XL $80, 2XL $68, 3XL $57. Obviously a lot depends on style, color and condition but you can see the price dropping significantly with 2XL.
@_calebsells3 ай бұрын
You’re probably right but it was a tall size which for me tend to do better across the board. I could be wrong though. Either way I’m happy with a carhartt haha

I've noticed a slight decrease in my local stores here in PA not huge could be just the changing of the seasons of course but seeing a lot for $5.99 as to $7.99 default for everything not a huge difference but can make some items worth picking up now.
@_calebsells3 ай бұрын
mine came out swinging with the jackets and sweaters.
@togetherrrr3 ай бұрын
Let me be clear, with The North Face jacket that you bought for $7.40 and sold for $24. If you do recommended promotion rate, you will pay some $5 eBay fees, which will leave you with some $19 profit, subtract 7.50 original price, your net profit will be near some $12, but also you will pay income tax on all you make eventually, so profit is around 10$ for that TNF jacket. Is that about right?
@_calebsells3 ай бұрын
That math is close enough. Make $10 on some items is fine but I try to make $15. That jacket already sold for $40. Including sourcing, photos, listing, and shipping I have less than 15 minutes into each item. So $10 per item is still $40 per hour to me

@_calebsells I'm lucky that our goodwills and SAs have decent prices, so it's not hard for me finding clothes, 75% of my items are bread and butter, cause I live in SC where Nike and Ralph Lauren are about as good as it gets 😆 🤣

I think it’s funny when people say this bc I don’t have this problem in Raleigh. We don’t have the massive corporate stores here so they don’t price items individually. Oh yeah, and we don’t even have colored tags lol everything is set prices so everything

You found some great pieces. Do you mind me asking whereabout you're at? I keep running into issues of not finding anything beside gloria Vanderbilt or faded glory since moving to a smaller city in Ohio and I hate the idea of driving an hour each way to maybe find some items.
@_calebsells3 ай бұрын
I drive to a bigger city. From my experience that’s where the better items are

I think Cayley Elaine said she drives 1.5 hours each way every time she goes thrfiting, she also lives in tiny town in Ohio. The tradeoff is very cheap rent on a huge office space
@furtnot34413 ай бұрын
Just drive further and go to a bins store or hit a flea market daily. Low cost per item is a necessity. Just think if you are doubling your money or less on every item, you are going to have so much capital tied up. Also, what happens if a economic downturn hits and people are no longer able to spend that much on clothes. Suddenly, you are in a position to buy a ton of stuff but have 0 capital to swoop in.
@_calebsells3 ай бұрын
I hear your point but I disagree. If my current model wasn't working I would definitely adapt and I know my COG is relatively high. If I shopped at the bins my ASP and STR would drop severely and I would have to list way more items and sourcing would take many days instead of 1 long day and some quick stops. Paying $1 and making $5 is 5X but a lot of work to pay the bills. Paying $10 and making $20 is only 2X but I can make the same profit with 1/4 of the items.
@TheClashOfTheClansАй бұрын
each of those items would be atleast 3x the price at my goodwill

This wasn’t a goodwill so you might have to try other stores

my local greedwill is out of their minds with their pricing, i only go on $1.79 day and make sure i have a coupon lol. I mainly go to the bins. Do you have a bins close by? Are you a fan of the bins?
@_calebsells3 ай бұрын
I have a couple of bins but my area doesn't have overflow. So everything in the bins sat on the rack for 4 weeks first. So I try to get anything good before it gets there to save time.
@princesabonita793 ай бұрын
@@_calebsells we have a lot of overflow here (I'm in KC area) because the greedwill overprices everything so most of it ends up at the bins lol. Plus there's a lof of straight to the bins donations from donors either from the retail locations and at the actual bins. I think because the staff cant keep up with all the donations so they just send it straight to the bins. and then i dont know what happens at the retail store but i end up finding stuff that's only been on the floor less than a week. Anyways, awesome finds!
