This is just an explanation of how I'm attempting to train wild crows to bring me coins. Let me know what you think might work better.

Already heard of a guy giving crows better bread when they bring him dollar bills, and them consistently giving some good money. So if they bring a bunch of bills or bigger ones, give them more or better stuff and they'll learn fast. Good luck lol

Yeah, there's a decent amount of evidence that crows are likely the smartest non-human animal. They put nuts out onto the road so cars will crack them open, & even memorize bus routes/timing & put the hardest to crack nuts specifically on those roads at those times. They design their own tools, which are more complex than any other species even uses. They remember the faces of humans who have treated them badly & dive-bomb & poop on them in retaliation (for months, sometimes even years). They even hold funerals for dead group members.

I 'have' four (wild) crows and for whatever reason my four crows have a single raven in their group. Ive been building my relationship with them for about a year and unbeknown to me I guess the relationship started long before that it just took me a while to realize they had been watching me from the trees probably everyday. My black swedish duck had little ducklings running around the yard with her and one day i noticed that every time a red hawk or turkey vulture enters airspace over my yard the crows would show up out of nowhere and launch a full scale aerial attack. I started rewarding them with food every time they run off a predatory bird. They're still shy but they've started cawing out to me when i walk out into the yard. In the last month one of them seems to be warming up to me and will fly low (like 10 feet ) above my head. I also had one of them spot my vehicle and fly up close following me for several blocks to the house. I cant help wonder if it might have watched me leave and just been waiting for me to return. 😄

While visiting my daughter in florida i started feeding scraps to crowd in her backyard. Soon they were comingevery day. When I had to go home she started putting scraps out there for them. One day she had a lot of meat scraps left after preparing supper and put them out. She went back in to do domething and when she came back she found the yard full of vulrures. On the ground and in the trees. She was surprised. Vultures are huge!

Start putting bills down with coins while they wait be sure to identify which crow makes the first move wait five minutes dont leave area, make sure they're watching and pick up coins put down peanuts pick up Bill( dollar bill or $20 preferably twenties )make sure you hold it up clearly so they see it and then put more peanuts than you would put down for the coins put in separate piles being sure that the piles for the money that you took is much larger than the pile for the coins do this repeatedly until maybe one morning or someday guess what you going to find at your doorstep let me know what happens.

Funny, I recently started doing the same thing, I just got a family of 3 crows to start coming back daily. It's been 5 days now and they return every day now, I'm trying to train them with sound as well and make same crow noise so they recognize me when I feed them, I'll hear them crow in the distance, I'll make a short crow like noise and throw some food out, they come sometimes right away now but still very skittish of me

Update 9 months later.... they have come back every day....I went on vacation for 3 weeks at one point and they came back the day I got back.... they come when I whistle usually if in range. They eat dog food and whole peanuts 🥜... they take the peanuts and hide them or stand there and peck at them and come back for the other food... today however was a big surprise... so I put the food on a 12x14 inch raised platform that they eat from and sometimes I put out table scraps and they love it...well today I put out some meat scraps which I had done before and I looked out the window expecting to see a crow but there was a 2ft buzzard on the perch eating the meat.... absolutely couldn't believe it... and it was the ugliest most beat up buzzard I ever saw too... it was huge though... much bigger than the platform.... the crows were around and they were pissed off and cawing like crazy for quite a while too.

I feed 2, one is more bold (I call him Elijah) and if I sit on the bench and look away he will come down and eat whatever it is I have fed him. They also drink water from my dog's bowl. The closest they come to me at the moment is about 2 metres. There's many who would, mistakenly, say that it's wrong to feed them. In actual fact crows are one of the most domesticated, wild birds other than the pigeon, as they have been living alongside people for hundreds of years. Therefore, as long as you don't overfeed them, it is completely fine.

I've made friends with the crow/raven in the backyard by feeding it peanuts and other things like that while sitting at a picnic table, and I live in the middle of the Bronx If you sit outside in your front yard in the lawn chair in the morning when the crows come, and you toss them peanuts, then get used to you, and eventually they'll warm up to you to the point where they will let you pet them

Crowbox official has a device that will actually keep the peanuts, or whatever treat you have that's healthy for crows, in a clear box but will open when they put in a coin. I've seen similar devices that are like "dispensers" for crows and ravens. The key though is to establish that the box has food in it by letting it first dispense or have freely available food, then covered food, then some way to put coins (that are already there) in to dispense food, then hopefully they figure out to find coins elsewhere to bring to the box.
