So glad to see I'm not alone in having a notebook for every category of my life! The garden one is great for year over year and mine had evolved to overall outdoor home care w seasonal reminders like "check the roof", etc.

you have no idea how much this helps. i have adhd and never knew how to keep my life organized because i’m always jumping around from thought to thought. thank you so much, hope you can hang in there and that this is still working for you :)

I don't have ADHD but having lived for years with someone who does, I think the most illuminating thing I've understood through my friend is that repetitive chores others can assign to "thoughtless tasks" and power through can be extremely demanding for him. He can get these things done and from the outside it looks the same as anyone else, but the inner experience of how much mental focus and grinding effort that takes can be utterly exhausting. For my own organisation I'm an averagely distracted person and the best thing I've done for myself at home is to put Google minis in almost every room, using voice commands to set timers, reminders, make lists, change the music, check the weather etc is much less distracting for me than picking up a device where I get carried away with unrelated apps and notifications. At work I live and die by my handwritten daily to do list and ongoing overflow to do list though 📃 #spaghettibrainsunite 🧠🍝 ✅

A lot of people don't understand or acknowledge how exhausting repetitive every day "chores" or tasks are for us adhd folk. That's me. I have mainly inattentive type and I'm like that little Charlie brown kid Pigpen. I will muster up the energy for a short time but keeping things up is literally like hellscape for me. My father was the same and he recently passed away so I've been having to try ans clean up his lifetime of hoarding and inattention to his house. 😩I feel so exhausted all the time I'm having mental breakdowns weekly.

With my bipolar/anxious mind, I have found I work better with mind maps / freemapping rather than lists or parahraphs. I am more inclined to visual / pictoral/ diagram learning styles than written / print. My husband and my friend who have ADHD tend more to written lists. Just thought maybe that might help someone. I just map on a blank page and take it from there. I've always mapped for essays or job applications in the past before setting to planning and then writing. Always worth doing a quick learning styles quiz 🖐

I love the idea of jotting things down the the rocket book to then organize in other things. In my head my thoughts are all over the place. Pulling out a planner often feel like an insurmountable task because I know I’m going to be back and forth and all over the place. I never thought about just making a list and going off that.
@rhianhy4 жыл бұрын
Its a weird one but it works! The rocketbook is like the initial dump and then i organize it out of there so i'm not scribbling in the wrong place and crossing it out etc. I felt the exact same about my planner for a couple of weeks then decided to just write maybe 3 tasks for each day that could be super easyyyy or more important and i'm easing my way back in! x
Omg another adult with ADHD I sometimes feel like the only one! Love any help and advice on organisation - thank you! X

I love this - this is actually similar to what I've been doing for the last few years! I was diagnosed last April after being stuck in an organizational dishwasher for about 8 months - I came across the bullet journalling technique which has helped me not just get a bit more on top of things but also the improvement in my handwriting has been a relief (since I have disabilities also) - thank you so much for what you're doing I can totally relate to feeling total chaos during lockdown!

thank you so much for these tips... I started quarantine quite confident but now (day 40 or so) I am starting having some trouble focusing and organizing priorities... I am a little lost, so to speak: I don't know what my life will look like in the future, if I will be able to recover (workwise) or if I even want my job, to begin with... and I need - really really bad - something to hold on to in order to find a new path - stay safe, sanding a lot of love

I love these kind of videos! it's nice to know that I'm not the only person like this lol. I have 4 different planners... One for each little area of my life (animal care, makeup/work, personal stuff, and the same gratitude journal). Even if there's not a lot to do right now being organized on paper makes me feel a little less stressed, plus it's so satisfying to check off even the smallest of chores.

I'm a profesh list maker 💛 And I'm soo happy to realise I'm not the only one working with multiple planners/notebooks! Also I wish I could function well doing it all in a phone app but I can't. There's something about pen and paper that soothes me and releives anxiety... Loved this 🎈

I love a good organization video. I follow a similar system of having a bunch of different places to write things but I’ve started using my iPad Pro to keep a digital journal so that I can have a lot of separate “places” but keep them all in one location if that makes sense.

I'm so intrigued by digital journals but i always find i have a hard time following digital calendars even. Is there one you love in particular?

Rhian HY I’m a big bullet journaler. So I just use Good Notes with dotted paper to draw out my own planner/ trackers/ notes etc. with the pencil it feels like I’m using a paper planner. I still get the benefits of physically writing things out but I really love being able to search for things in my notes and I can keep them more organized electronically.

I just ordered 2 of the Rocketbooks and a set of colored pens to go with - one book for hubby and one for me. We waste so much paper just making little 'to do' lists or leaving each other notes or messages. Plus, WHY do I always think of really good song lyrics in the shower and forget them by the time I find a piece of paper??? If I keep this handy, maybe I can recoup some of those lost ideas!

I actually came on to YT this evening looking for an Organization Video. Perfect! My husband thinks I'm nuts because I have a sketchbook, Google Cal, and three different To Do Lists apps and a sticky note version too! Whatever works is what works! I looked into Bullet Journals to see if it could contain everything in one place but the setup looked too intimidating.
