Please don't stop how you do videos cos I feel like I am having a natter and coffee with my floral peer/friends. It feels personal. Not a TV/internet show. But a chat. And honestly I may never be a flower farmer ( never say Never and who knows what the future Holds) I have learnt more from you this way, and this in turn means I take that to my garden and so my achievement joy level rises which is nothing but fabulous. So you do you and bloom on.

Once again, so inspired I had to pause the video, not to rush into the garden this time, but to scribble down some ideas...Thank you for sharing your insights on how to live our best life, how to connect with what we REALLY want to be spending our time doing. You're a treasure, Georgie, and have enriched my life immeasurably in the short time I've 'known' you.

Georgie, I will never be a flower farmer, so don’t know why I started watching your videos, but you caught my attention from the very beginning. I am a retired florist who loves watching people flower arrange, and just loved your style, personality, surroundings and unique personality..so don’t change, just continue to be you and do what makes you happy. I have a small garden and continue to learn from you. I just put your books on my birthday list.. a friend from the USA

Thank you Georgie I love your book and your channel don’t change a thing. My husband was a secondary school teacher and he use to say to his students when they were studying for exams… 20 minutes study, 20 rest, then again the same thing 20 minutes study, 20 minutes rest. You get a lot more done this way and don’t get burnt out ❤

I always skip through b roll, I’m not here for watching beautiful clips of butterflies on flowers as I have my own farm, I’m here for information which is one of the many many reasons I love your content.

I'm beginning to realise that - people come to KZbin to learn or watch something quite specific - they can get much better butterflies with David Attenborough x

Please do not change and add bits of jingle music and bits across the screen, you are wonderful as you are, it is a joy to watch a channel without whizzy bits. They drive me to distraction. I would agree that timers are great for aiding focus on a task. Thanks for all your useful tips.

I enjoy your channel because it’s no nonsense and full of good content. I always learn from you and am frequently inspired to go and cut twigs or plan my sowing for the coming season. The variety when you visit your mum or introduce fellow flower farmers is great too. I greatly enjoyed your Christmas shopping video. Do not change please! Interesting to hear how you are making time to write. I draw or paint every day even if it’s only 5 minutes. I can definitely see an improvement over time. My husband is doing similar playing the guitar,a few chords each evening to familiarise himself with the sound. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 💭

I love the timer idea. I never thought of using one for myself 👍. I was a landscape gardener for 20 years, working by myself, and found “the noise” unbearable at times and very difficult to get out of my head because I had all day to ruminate about it.

Thanks for this Georgie! I had been hoping the writing was progressing satisfactorily. Good on you! Silence brings clarity and calm. In this state we can better judge inputs for relevance/appropriateness/value. I easily fall prey to the purveyors of fake or inflated doom and end up boosting their bottom line at the cost of my mental health.

So this is a non-fiction book you're writing for Green Books? Congrats! Not easy to get a book deal these days - but as they have published you before, they obviously think you are a horse worth backing! Fay Weldon thought highly of your last novel - and she was highly regarded herself - so her praise is something to cherish and encourage you to write your next novel. A shame she won't be writing her wickedly satirical novels anymore - but you can! The tommytoe timer is also a good idea - I am scribbling my novel at the moment, and since I read Michael Mosley warning us that sitting too long is bad for our circulation, I set my cooking alarm, to go off every 30 minutes. He advises us to move the old bod every half hour, by doing step exercises and waving your arms about with small hand weights, for 10 minutes or so - then it's back to writing again for another 30 mins. it really does get the blood flowing to the little grey cells - but it can be a bit of a bugger to get up from my desk if my writing is flowing well, and then the alarm goes off again - but I force myself to do this, and am feeling the benefit. I'm impressed that you can write 1000 words in half an hour! Writng fiction takes me 5 hours to write 1000 words - but I write long hand - in pencil, as Roald Dahl did! - so that's 5 written pages - and then i edit it as I type it up at the end of the week. You are being pulled in ten different directions, with a farm and a family to manage - so I am impressed with your self-discipline, Georgie! I fly solo through life, so am lucky to have the luxury of abundant time. I find it helps to think of writing as a real pleasure, and not as work, or drudgery to be postponed. On my wall, I have painted this brill quote from Noel Coward - 'Interesting work is more fun than fun.'
@theflowerfarmer9 ай бұрын
lol - no I don't write 1000 words in half an hour - but I do set the timer for half an hour at a time like you. I find it completely transforming! and Noel Coward is so right - love that quote xxx

I like your video style. Can’t bear the ones that litter the screen or keep switching around or make it look like they have someone filming them by doing going through the door shots etc. I’ll calm down now.
