I'm 40 and like to think I'm reasonably tech savvy, but it's scary to think that I literally had no idea what you were talking about for 90% of this video. It's like you were speaking French. All I see is you selling pictures of a kid's cartoon character for fake money to people with more money than sense, for what purpose? I don't understand what you were even selling or why anyone would buy one. NFTs seem just like a pyramid scheme. All hype and no substance. Maybe I'm just "old", but I'm struggling to get it. What I understand is NFTs are just like physical art except they’re digital. Like the painting of Mona Lisa, you can print a picture of Mona Lisa from the internet and frame it but it won’t sell for millions like the original one. Similarly, you can own NFT’s that can go up in value and the ownership matters.

If u dig a lil deeper, there art legit artist that make a living selling art thru nfts/tokens. Ofc there are a bunch of scammy nfts but u can’t say all of nfts are a scam/pyramid scheme

Also in the modern art world, it’s all pumped artificially and goes hand to hand without the artist getting royalities. Nfts/blockchain changes this. Every time that nft/token is sold royalities go straight to the artists wallet

Thanks for this Jensen. Just trying to understand where everything went wrong. It seems like mistake #1 was the delay in the smart contract. #2 was the mistake of the Dev to assume that the contract would automatically be switched by Opensea. #3 Not being ready to color. These are all issues with the DEV it seems. Would it have been different if there was a competent DEV on the team?

alright so gotta be honest i dont own nfts and i dont plan to buy some in the future. But i would be interested in why i should buy them. Like what is the reason for somebody to spend around 100€ (at the current price for eth.) for this nft specific or in generall. Why? Basically, all you have to do is hype it up and sell it to someone else for more than you paid for. Even better if your a celeb, because then your word has more weight and more people will buy into it. After they buy into it, you pull everything you have and sell it at the new high price. Another way, is you make the NFTs themselves, then you can have contracts that allow the owner to modify the contract at any time. Buy a TON of them pre-sales and let your friends buy pre-sales for a tiny cost and then when you open the sales up, if it's hyped up enough, it'll sell for a lot more. Then you modify the contract to STOP buyers from selling. Because they're locked in the price stays the same. The owner can allow them and their friends to sell and BOOM, you're rich. This is the world of NFTs.

The problem is that crypto is not just financial products. The finance bros have brought that to crypto. Blockchain technology is so much bigger than just using it like stocks. NFTs for example are the best way to record ownership data on a third party. In that case the root coin is just used to secure the network. All these weird derivatives and loan products are useless to me and I've been in the blockchain space for 12 years. I tried using one of these yield projects once, Thyme Wonderland and it didn't work. I just don't really care about defi. Bitcoin is great for transferring value. Smart contracts are great for storing data, payroll, and other things, but financial derivatives in crypto are just a way for finance bros to pull over their same old boring games from walstreet on to crypto.
