Thank you for showing us and narrating! This was helpful. I was getting caught up on stringing the left wire through in the last step in order to set myself up for the next 2, 3 beads so that it makes 5. Ty for sharing!

Thank you so much for sharing. I tried and tried by for some reason on the 3rd step I cannot get 5 beads. I have 5 in the first and 2nd but when I add the 1st 3 beads i get a circle of 4. I thought maybe my beads were not lining up properly but I even when I started over it did not work.

Oh my, I feel your frustration! I’d have the beads lined up, when a bump or swish by the wire would send them out of place… then I’d line up the beads again, following my guide card. I’d encourage you to stick with it, though! Stick with the pattern… bead on the right side wire then come through with the left side…. If the two wires have 2 beads between them you’ll string 3 more. If the wires have 3 beads between them you’ll string 2 more. If there are only four beads there I’m thinking you might be forgetting to ‘string into the next neighbor bead’ after you’ve added your beads on the right side wire? Gosh this all sounds confusing, huh? Dozens and dozens of times I had to take my cluster apart and start over as I was learning the pattern. So, you are on the 3rd step… Your started by placing 5 beads on the wire and crossing the left wire over to go back thru the last bead in that set. The wires have one bead between them… ready for step 2 when you add 4 beads, stringing them on the right wire where they’ll join the 1 bead to make another 5. Left wire goes thru the last bead… then thru that bead’s neighbor… giving you 2 beads , ready to take the next 3, giving you the 5 again. I’m sorry for the lengthy explanation… but, tho I can now make the full & half clusters quite easily, my vivid recollection of the frustration of understanding and mastering the sequence is even more easily conjured up into mind! Do keep your pattern card in front of you for reference to the bead sequence. Do start over if you get lost as back tracking only increased my frustrations. Do check out the various videos we made trying to help to demonstrate the cluster ball project as clearly as we could. Don’t give up! You can do it! Tweek 😅

Hi Christina! The reason I use the .018 in wire is because it is strong, it is thin enough to fit thru most bead holes, it is pliant enough for me to knot, and it is easily found for purchase. ( and I can see it while I bead with it! 😁) If you use fishing line be be sure it has the above qualities as you’d want the line to hold the beads and not to break. Do remember that glass beads are heavier than plastic. Good luck & Thank you for your kind comment! Tweek😄
