lots of viewers have been asking about the quantity of fabric i used to make this hat. here are the measurements that i purchased: 1 yard of muslin, 1/2 yard of red flannel (i would probably get 1 yard next time as i barely had room for error) 1/4 yard of white flannel

thank you! that would be so cute! i wonder how one would make the frame for a waterproof hat, as i don't think cardboard would be the best idea even with water resistant fabric. i've seen people use chicken wire to create the dome but for the brim i don't know what could be used!

you could take long strips of fabric and bunch it up using just your hands and secure it in place as you go along!

If I had a head like that the first thing I would do is take it out of the garage and stop at the death then I put it in a grinder and grind it to Smithereens then take the pieces I throw it on the street light it on fire then take the ashes and throw it in the dumpster. Then I would call the Attorney General and tell him dont let hats like that in my city. Then I would put a big sign on my door no crazy hats allowed

Hello! How did you do the ruffles on the beneath side of the hat?? I saw that you were sewing something. But did you make strils or sum? I don't really understand :))

hi! thank you for watching! to gather the fabric for the underneath side of the hat, i sewed a straight line across the edge of a long strip of fabric with no backstitching. then, i pulled on one side of that thread to gather the fabric. you can see the process a little better in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2iyXmueasd7g9U it is also possible to gather the fabric by hand simply by scrunching it up and glueing it down as you go along the brim.
