It's impossible to maintain long wavy hair . As you already have a straight hair genetically it's easy to maintain than curly and wavy hair

You need to hydrate your curls. I shampoo twice a week, Conditioner every alternate days, and only Water when it's not condition. I comb just after applying conditioner to detangle my hair. My hair stays hydrated for atleast half a day. Will be incorporating Curl cream in my routine, as I heard it'll moisturize and hold my hair for atleast 2-3 days
