Hey bro, I've been in consulting space 6 years, SaaS sales 2 years until we got acquired by PE firm and they let everyone go. I've been scared to death finding another role despite my experience as I don't have 5 years quota carrying experience. This video has helped me believe in myself. Thank you for doing God's work.

I just came across your video and this was very informative! I’m a recent software engineer graduate and trying to switch careers. I’ve been getting tech sales jobs from recruiters and been ignoring them. I was just nervous about sales and not making quota. I know how to talk to to people and lead things. I had a recruiter who wanted me bad because I know coding and have customer success and tech support experience. I started looking into it because this black software engineer group I’m in a guy said here made $800k for the year in tech sales. I’m a look into this!

@@ElevateToTheUnknown What does a quota look like for starting out? Is it something monthly or quarterly? I’m going to research too. Idk if you talked about this already but I would like to know the post sales position. The job a recruiter was telling me about was software engineer customer success position and it’s a post sales position.
@ElevateToTheUnknown3 жыл бұрын
The quota depends on the company. It could be $1.4 million and you have to hit quarterly Targets 1.4M / 4. Post sales roles like customer success are a more outcome focused support roles. Look at it as an escalation point for customer support. You won't make nearly the money in post a sales role compared to a direct sales role unless you are a high level executive.

I’ve been in sales for a decade. Most of my roles have been 100% commissions. How would you advise breaking into tech at a role with a high base salary? Most of the roles I’ve applied to are offering $50k base. Should I avoid remote work?
@ElevateToTheUnknown2 жыл бұрын
You would want to break in a tech industry with longer sales cycles. Some of these industries are supply chain, medical tech, manufacturing tech, etc... Network with folks in this industry and sell yourself on why you'd be a great addition to the team.
