Carolyn's RV Life ... I am a new subbie and I find your humor and happiness refreshing. No matter what happens you find happiness and peace in your chosen lifestyle. I would rather view one of your videos per week or every 2 to 3 or even 4 weeks in lieu of knowing you burned-out and lost the awesome passion for your adventurous lifestyle you currently share with your viewers. Haters gonna hate. Period. You have the right and opportunity to delete negative, snarky, sexist, gross, foul-languaged, etc posts. You are a positive, upbeat, encouraging, kind, caring, gracious and admirably independent person - just eliminate the random nonsense. That is not the purpose of your channel. Repeat .... YOUR channel.

The first week in May 2017 is rapidly approaching, so that means my dog, Riley and I will be hitting the road again for the summer. We are mini-van dwellers in the summer and not so much (yet) in the winter. This year we will be heading back to NC from CA and am taking I-10 all the way to the Atlantic. I am driving a 2003 Chrysler T&C with 200,700 miles on it. Riley and I have made 4 trips to the East coast in the last few years and been to more places than I can remember. National Parks,Forests, state parks, Civil War Battlefields, Mt. St. Helen's, WA.; CA. Coast Redwoods, several of Utah's many wonders, Great Smokey Mountains, the Rockies, Crater Lake,OR. and a bunch of places to numerous to mention. One thing I have learned from your videos is to start keeping better record and videos of the places I travel to. I really enjoy watching your vid's and your life style. Good luck and enjoy life!!!!

I love geocaching, even though I'm not very good at it. I think I've been doing it for 2 years now. Only have about 40 finds, but I hate the hot Florida summers, so that limits the time I spend on it. I love that it's free/cheap and takes me out of my comfort zone. I'm not outdoorsy yet I enjoy wading through plants and fallen trees to grab a cache. I also like leaving small things I've made in the caches.

I always heard don't give more than you can afford to lose. So don't give so much of yourself that you can't get it back! At the end of the day you have to invest in yourself to be able to give to others! Just worry about yourself first, and when you get comfortable then you can let us get a peek. The reason I started watching you is because your so real. Your videos are raw/honest, so don't worry so much about spending time to edit! I like the realness and honesty that you share, let the content in all its flaws, be the content! Block the haters, and keep the honest/pureness as the focus! Just my opinion...love the channel!

Do I dare just leave ? Sitting here with a pull behind 19 ft that I purchased for a homeless relative who are no longer around. A new single woman age 64. Raised my 2nd family, he graduated from high school last week It's been 20 years since I went camping. Now it's time for me. I just moved out from a 4 K home into a 333 sq foot cottage that I was planning on renting not living. Say a pray for me to find myself !! I might go out tomorrow and open the camper and clean it out. I couldn't tell you where to begin except to begin !! Often "FEAR" stands for False Evidence Appear Real . Nancy

You should do it! If it appeals to you just give it a try. You don't even have to go far. Just go spend the weekend at the nearest lake or beach or wherever. Some of the most relaxing times in my life have been the weekends I took our rv down to the beach for the weekend all by myself. If you don't enjoy it you haven't really lost anything.

“Begin. Keep on beginning. Nibble on everything. Take a hike. Teach yourself to whistle. Lie. The older you get the more they'll want your stories. Make them up. Talk to stones. Short-out electric fences. Swim with the sea turtle into the moon. Learn how to die. Eat moonshine pie. Drink wild geranium tea. Run naked in the rain. Everything that happens will happen and none of us will be safe from it. Pull up anchors. Sit close to the god of night. Lie still in a stream and breathe water. Climb to the top of the highest tree until you come to the branch where the blue heron sleeps. Eat poems for breakfast. Wear them on your forehead. Lick the mountain's bare shoulder. Measure the color of days around your mother's death. Put your hands over your face and listen to what they tell you.” ― Ellen Kort tags: advice-to-beginnersRead more quotes from Ellen Kort

Carolyn, I'll tell you a lesson I learned from Gambling . com. At the beginning we were getting $.50 per email address from casinos to send mailers to our members. As we saturated the market by sending twice per week we devalued ourselves. Soon the cost was down to$0.25 per address. Then down to $0.15 We should have stayed at 1 mailer per week thus keeping our offers more valuable. I'd suggest going to one video per week. Just make it damn good. Sometimes less is better, in many ways... Ken

Hi Carolyn. Let me just start by saying "you rock"! I am one of those you referenced as watching your videos and never commenting. Thank you for the nice thoughts you shared at the end. I have been following your channel for awhile now and love your content, your sense of humor about life and your sincerity. Your helpful tips and info are appreciated as well. I'm a 53 year old (54 next month) single mom of 7 children and am making plans to go full-time in a few years with my boyfriend (hopefully my husband by then). Still have 2 in high school so I have to wait. In the meantime, we are looking in to travel trailers so we can at least go camping on weekends and in the summer. Love, love, love the geocache idea. I go hiking with some of my kids and sometimes their friends and this idea of hunting for treasure would just add to the adventure. Thanks again for your ideas and your inspiration.

I've been care taking mt Dad for 4 years now and he's still going strong. I needed to find a way to live in my moment, how ever few they are, and work towards what I really want (what I really really want) and the freedom of the road, rolling in Mad Maxine will suit me fine. I'm so happy I've been able to use this time as gentle transition into what life should be about. Living... Thank you so much for the inspiration. Happy Trails...

I just bought my RV and plan on selling my home and pulling out full time next year, although I, too, will still have to work on the computer 8-10 hours a day, and my destinations will be limited by my internet connectivity. Im still hoping for relaxing evenings and weekend hikes motivated by new sites. I know the RV lifestyle has its own challenges, but there is a lot less space to maintain compared to a full sized home, yard and in my case an underground pool. I'm looking forward to the change. No need to burn yourself out in your precious free time making videos, I would think one a week would be enough and you would still maintain your subscriber base. I am happy to see another successful, single female out there chasing the dream, and appreciate the extra work you do for the subscribers.

My absolute favorite geocache took place while camping near Brevard, NC. It was a clue-type cache where you had to head to various other spots in the town, via coordinates, to reveal the coordinates of the master destination. It allowed you to explore the town. The final location of the cache was magnificent. Such fun.

No matter your age, you can learn something that would make money for you if you lived on the road. Watch these videos, go back to the history, and you will find so many tips. Be a graphic designer, computer repair and programming, engine repair, writer, or even a lecturer after you specialize in one venue and know it very well, if you can speak before people, you can be a motivator, or trainer, dog trainer, horse trainer, anything. Professional musician playing gigs. Save up depending on the size of the vehicle you want, and cameras, etc. Didn't you hear Carolyn Works 10 hours a day. You can do it on a lot less. Learn.

Hi Carolyn, Enjoyed your latest as always and can't wait to see your improvements to the RV! There never is enough time in the day ... I feel your frustration. I've learned to do one thing at a time (hobby wise) and spend a little time doing it each day. Then when I get tired of that thing I move onto the next. I will eventually make it around to each and every hobby and then back again sooner or later. In other words, I do my hobbies in phases. If you need to take a break from KZbin, we will understand. Be sad but will understand. Hope you can find your balance and do what you want to do/enjoy doing most. Keep smiling! You Rock!

Been watching videos for awhile now. Really learning a lot. Don't want to work until I'm 66 waiting for my full SS. Thinking about just working for a couple more years until I'm 62 and living on a combination of partial SS and savings. From what I've learned from you and Bob is that it can be done. Keep up the great work.

Hang in there. I'm an RVer. I have 43' toy hauler and a Honda Goldwing trike. I'm leaving my home base at Rainbow's End escapees RV Park and heading up to the Midwest on the 1st of April. I enjoy your videos very much. Try to enjoy your life. All work and no play makes life difficult. You'll figure it out.

Hi Carolyn, Now, THIS, is the kind of adventure I truly enjoy; seeing the natural surroundings of the desert, flowers, stones, sand and even the randomness of the terrain. You mentioned several times during this video the need to devote hours and hours editing; don’t. I truly feel many of us out here living the life of a jackass hitched to the wagon of obligations, would be very content just in seeing the candidness of “roaming”, no matter what you may choose to do. I’m not sure what your “day-time” job is and what it may entail for paying your bills, but many of us out here would be kinda interested in you sharing a slice of that as well. Keep the videos coming, we enjoy them allot and I feel all of us look forward to them. Be safe watch out for the critters, most are content to leave you alone as long as they can be left alone. BUT, as you said in you video, you do not want to surprise a rattler, a large one packs enough venom to “put you down for the count”. I know first hand. Be safe, always be an advocate for ‘Mother Nature”, she has few PROACTIVE spokesmen these days, most are content to look the other way.

Hi Carolyn, just wanted to stop in and say hey. I was in a department store today looking for some kitchen items when I ran across something I wanted to get for you. It was a pretty little coffee mug with "Just Be Kind" on it. It made me smile to think of you. Of course, I would never have known how to send it to you but wanted to. Just know you make a lot of us smile.

Thanks for your videos. I am a full timer boon-docker. I just downloaded the app. thanks to you. Word of advice. When something feels like it is taking over your life, it is. Slow down. Stop and smell the roses. I’ve followed the cool weather this summer in Arizona and have got to see the desert bloom several times. Hope our paths cross one day.

Nice job! Don't burn out or it might stop being fun. Also watch the sun exposure. Feels good but it can kill you over the long haul. I'm retired. I have never been so busy. I volunteer with my wife at a local nonprofit, fight #45 and his un-American administration, travel, photography, backpack, vlog, do handy man work and walk my dear precious dogs. I'm too busy and causes me stress. I'm learning to say "no" alot more.

Within the past few days I have offically retired and I am working on converting my suv into a camper and will soon be lookkng for a geocache myself. That just looks like fun. Thank you for showing me something to help pass the time. And hell I love you too.

Love geocaching!, I found a handheld GPS works a tad better then the phone. But to tell the truth, I love that it can be done with a phone, because we have done caches on the fly. And we don't always have our GPS with us. ENJOY!!

Thanks for the explanation of Geocaching, I had heard of it but never understood it. It sounds like a fun hobby. I'll be waiting to hear your decision about the utilization of your time going forward. I just retired in December and I am loving the freedom of not having to work. I just cannot believe how quickly my days go by - there is no time to be bored!!

Oh my goodness-I had absolutely no idea it takes so long to edit a video! I really, really enjoy your videos and am always happy when a new ones comes out,but now I feel so guilty! I know the number of videos you put out was your own personal decision, but I can also see that you feel you have made a commitment to your viewers and just the thought of cutting back makes you feel bad. Plus I know you get pleasure from doing them! Please, take the time to dedicate to yourself and your "day job", and do not feel one smattering of guilt if you cut back on your videos. You are not failing your viewers-or yourself-in any way, shape or form!!! I can see we have similar personalities, and I know the struggle I would go through in your situation. But life is like this, and realistically there are only so many hours in a day. The last thing you want is for something that started out as an enjoyable project to start feeling like it adding stress to your life.

As others have said, your time is yours. Take a step back from it and do it when you feel like it. I recently had to make the tough decision to discontinue my art business because, while I enjoyed it, it was taking me way too much time and I felt I was missing out on time with my kids. It was hard but once I did it I was SO glad I did! I'll continue to enjoy your channel no matter how often you decide to post new videos. :)

Geocache has been around for years! I had forgotten about it. Years ago when I was camping on a river in the state forest I ran across some folks that were looking for the cache in the woods. It was a green ammo box and hidden in the hollow of a fallen tree. Difficult to find but so fun! See the trinkets left by others, names and where they're from. At that time the site even gave out prizes for the most caches found. Have fun!

Glad I finally caught this one! Thats one thing I will do when I get into RVing. That barrel cactus reminded me when I came across one in Buckeye AZ last year, that I started playing it like a bass guitar! Each thorn gave a different note, so it sounded definitely musical.....AND I NEVER PRICKED MYSELF ONCE!! No damage to the cactus.

Hi Carolyn, Loved your geo cashing video, hope to join you soon, like you I sold my house, gave up my corporate job and got my Class B RV. First I found Bob Wells on KZbin then I found you and I was hooked. I believe this has been my dream all my life - I just realized it when I saw your videos. Thank you so much for changing my lifestyle. I expect to be in Arizona in April 2019, looking for the Caravans. Hope see you soon

From all I've researched, consistency of posting on KZbin is key. Set a schedule, post it, and try to stick to it to retain subscribers and continue to grow and eventually monetize your vlog. You don't need to post long videos, either: a five minute video of a pretty hike or geocache hunt or a cooking experiment is just as good as a 25 minute video, and a whole lot faster to edit and upload!! (I actually prefer to watch 8-12 minute videos whilst prepping dinner.) We have been geocachers for years - great activity for getting out in nature!! Have fun and watch for snakes!!
