Loving the longer video today! I loved being able to see each of your individual magnetic bookmarks and stickers up close too - so cute! Love that youre reconnecting with your love of reading too; always a magical thing :).

I listen to so many audiobooks to keep my mind engaged while I work but I’ve been making it a point to get back into reading with my eyes so that my kids hopefully get my love for reading. We have quiet time where I’ll read them a couple of books and then I read my own book while they flip through pictures.

I love that 💕 That’s a big reason for me too. My son loves his books, but it’s rare he sees me with a physical one. We’re setting up good habits and interests for them and doing our best. You got this! 💟

Hi my twin friend!!! Yay we get a longer vlog today!!!

Thank you twin friend!! 💟 Omg having parental responsibility free days is a must! We both work from home full time so we just alternate during the day with our son to accommodate work and what we each want to do. I’m glad you all make time for that too. I’ll be 33 in December and my goal is to get at least 2 books a month this year. Manga counts to me you still have to read lol 😂. I’ve always wanted to get more into manga and collect.

@@AshNicholeCo LOL you're right!!! Manga is reading!!! I get so captivated by the artwork I forgot to read haha. Books a million sells a lot of manga btw!

I haven’t been to books a million in a while. I need to go. Maybe I’ll do that on my next me day and get a few things 😁

Thank you for sharing this. I really wanna start making my own magnetic bookmarks but im on a budget and do not have a silhouette machine so trying to work that out :)
@AshNicholeCo2 ай бұрын
Of course! 💟 And you don’t need a cutting machine to get started! I used to hand cut everything before my machine. I would just keep the shapes of my bookmarks and stickers simple so that it wasn’t too awkward to cut out. Then you can eventually work up to that big purchase. You’ll get there!!

@@AshNicholeCo this is where I'm at hand cutting. If you get capacity, would love to hear your thoughts or more about the process without the silhouette machine.

I’ll make a short about it! I think it’s super easy to do without a cutting machine, just a bit more time consuming 😊💟

Hey, video was entertaining to watch! thanks- what do you think it's a good size for Canva where you are designing the magnetic bookmarks?
@AshNicholeCo2 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching!! 💟 In Canva, I just fill the page with my design but when saving it to export I make sure it’s at 300dpi to ensure it’s clear and the best quality (I show this in the video). Then when I go into silhouette studio for my cutting machine, I size them to my preference. It’s totally up to you how big or small you want your bookmarks to be in a book, so experiment until you find what works for you!

@@AshNicholeCoyes I noticed, I try to remember to increase the DPI😅 I was wondering because I know Emily uses a certain size to start designing hers to make sure bookmarks are relatively the same size. I haven’t tried in Canva I might have to check it out🤞🏽

@@Mariee1106 I’m not super precise with my designs, although I probably should be lol 😂. It changes based on the design itself and how I want it to look, but I just got back and look at the cut files of my previous designs to get a rough idea of the size I need.

I know you said that you Canva for a lot of your designing, and I was wondering if that is also where you purchase your image rights? I’m nervous about using images I find online, even the ones I can purchase. Unfortunately, I struggle to draw a straight line lol
@AshNicholeCo2 ай бұрын
I purchase all of the designs themselves off of Etsy and ensure that those designs are commercial use, no license required, and with no cap for physical products. Each seller/artist is different with what they allow for their designs so just look at the listing and the descriptions carefully to ensure you don’t have to purchase a separate license. For Canva, their commercial use policy allows for elements to be used as long as they are not the main design themselves. They need to be combined with other elements, text, or images so that they are not the feature. The commercial use policy is very straightforward and clear so if you are ever nervous give it a read. You shouldn’t have any concern unless you are just using found images that don’t provide permission for commercial use. As long as you do a little research into the design and have the permission of the artist, you’ll be good 😊 💟 Also, I’m the same. Stabilization on procreate brushes saves my life because I have no drawing skills whatsoever lol 😂
