I literally have to lock my cat in the bedroom when prepping food because she’ll try to ravenously eat it ALL. She needs some of Tangy’s manners 😅

Hey, quick question in your link (Haven't yet looked) do you also provide cheat sheets for kittens and cats, and figuring out caloric intake by weight? I've been looking everywhere but haven't been able to find sure fire supplement ratios for kittens. (Note: I don't have kitties again yet, but eventually will and want them and my future service dog on raw homemade food.) Thanks

Is it safe to mix mackerel with the meats? I thought the thiminase would deactivate the thiamin in meats if they were stored together.
@PawsofPrey2 жыл бұрын
Chub, scad, and Atlantic mackerel do contain thiaminase, however Spanish mackerel (which is what I'm feeding) does not! Here's a great source on the fish that do contain thiaminase: www.gartersnake.info/articles/2012/all-about-thiaminase.php

If you can’t be home during lunch cause of work - can your cat or kitten just eat during breakfast and dinner, splitting the meal into 2 instead of 3?

I have two cats I have recently started feeding a homemade raw diet and I bought the same supplements as used in the video but am struggling to figure out how best to use them because the doses are so high for a cat. For example, according to the formulator that I purchased from the pawsofprey website my cat Gizmo needs around 3iu of vitamin E per day but one drop of oil from the Now vitamin E oil supplement used in this video provides 32iu of vitamin E. Does anyone know if it's safe to give such a large dose in one meal? I know the NRC says vitamin E is pretty safe at high doses but i have also read that excess vitamin E can have negative effects on the absorption of other vitamins.

I have an urgent question and I already asked the vet. They said it should be fine. My cat will be one year old on September 13...he ate about 2 tablespoons worth of raw salmon while I was cooking I dropped it and he devoured! Will he be ok? It is fresh unseasoned salmon.
@JustMe-jr8nb2 жыл бұрын
I made salmon bites for dinner to go over rice. One cube dropped and he loved it.

Hi thank you for all the videos and I have learned so much. We have a diabetic cat and her blood glucose actually elevate after eating raw. Is this common? Do you happen to know what causes it? TYIA
@teire2 жыл бұрын
Usually blood glucose elevates in every meal, you just have to be careful that is in a normal range. Is the same in all species.

If I follow the 55% muscle meat 25% muscular organ 8% secreting organ 4% liver 8% raw meaty bone If I were to substitute the bone for bone powder what would I increase to fill the missing 8%? The muscle meat? Any suggestions? I can’t find chicken neck in any butchers even Asian makerts I’m looking online but I have to buy minimum of 5kg and I don’t have the freezer space as one now so would it be ok to use raw bone powder instead?

How do you minimise the bacteria load in your raw feeds?
@dalebailey7544 ай бұрын
Hygiene in prepping. Bacteria load isn’t much of a concern considering carnivores have short digestive tracts and high PH digestive enzymes, and cats will hunt and eat their own Prey if left outside.

Hello! i just wanted to say that you shouldn't give cats mackerel, becouse it has Thiaminase. Thiaminase breaks down vitamin b1.
@PawsofPrey Жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes, some mackerels do contain thiaminase, but the amount you need to feed to cover EPA, DHA, and vitamin D is not enough to cause a thiamin deficiency. Mackerel is a super beneficial fish, and as long as you don't grind the mackerel with the raw meats, and also rotate between different fish that do not contain thiaminase, there will be no issue. In a thiamin/thiaminase study on wild minks and foxes, thiaminase-containing fish were their main diet, and this is when we started to notice the problem with thiaminase. In raw diets, is a tiny portion (or at least, it should be). If you're really worried, just cook the mackerel, then thiaminase will be destroyed.
