That "out of my league" thing more often than not doesn't come into play with Thai women Daniel. I had nothing when we met as I had just lost my business and so it wasn't that she was after my money...There wasn't any. We clicked and made each other laugh and are still laughing 8 years on. If she ever spots a guy looking or smiling at her, she says to me things like, "Who does he think he is looking at" or "Spot the pervert". Most relationships for Thai women is deeper than any physical attributes.

Fantastic story, thank you. I was working in Vietnam but met my wife in Bangkok in 2012, as she was working for a company at Q House, near where I was staying. Our first real date was Hong Kong because we agreed to meet in a neutral place. A great way to see how each other really are when you both meet in a place where neither of you are on home ground. Neither of us automatically trusted each other. Plenty of false love stated in Asia, on both sides for financial or other reasons. We worked hard..have been lucky enough to work in central asia and south america together since we married and spent a lot of time in Australia as well. We Married in 2013 and been happy since, with fantastic in-law mum and dad and associated in-law relations.

I meet my wife in Jontiem she was flipping burgers at Just Burger Beach Road. We lived in Thailand for 2 years and been back in UK for 10. I worked in IT retired March now waiting on flights to the restart. Brought 1.6 rai building land by the sea going build a small resort for wife, retirement home and swimming pool. She's the best wife I've ever had and I've had a few. We love the Rayong area and the schools are good for our 3 year old daughter. Just looking for forward to leaving UK and never coming back. My Issan Thai family are fantastic and loving. They never ask for anything and there is respect from both sides. The people who have ripped off by their Thai partner deserved it normally with the lies of being rich but only birds poo in their pockets. Thank you for all your tips Ivan never learn enough. I to am lucky to have meet the love of my life. It just so happens she was Thai. About ten years ago we had hit hard times but she wanted to go home and see the family as she had done every year. I hadn’t been to three years and she said this year your going with me. But we could not afford it. What a fabulous almost 'Sliding Doors' movie story that is. Sliding Doors? You started telling your story of how you'd been turned over by your business partner and had been left high, dry and skint and then broke out in a sweat getting angry thinking about it. STOP RIGHT THERE. Look at that peaceful but vibrant city you're living in, sitting there in your shorts sipping a cold freshly squeezed pineapple drink as you wait for your meal but most importantly look across the table . Pook.!! She's beautiful, witty and practical (I watched your video in the garden where she's telling you what's what and their uses before this one ) The building of the house, the integration into her loving family, the Thai's in general (reminds me of 50's Britain) the beauty of the country side etc. Back to the 'Sliding doors' situation (if you haven't already seen it, watch it if you get the chance). Supposing your business partner hadn't done the dirty on you and the business thrived, what would you be doing right now? A rhetorical question but one you must ask yourself whenever your mind goes back to that dark period of your life and you start feeling agitated about it. That was then and look at where the train of events has got you NOW. It looks to me like you're both living the dream of heaven on earth after both going through a rough patch in life and in monetary terms? , absolutely priceless. I'll leave it there by wishing you, Pook and her family continued future happiness and remember, you have to break a few eggs to make a tasty omelette.

Lovely story, sitting in Phuket with my wife of 5 years, I also had a business partner from Bexley who ripped me off, not the same man I hope(Maurice), my wife supports me totally and the profit from her business goes into my Thai bank, I use my visa card for big shopping only, there are a lot of people like us, with good honest Thai wives, the secret is, don't look in bars! Sadly I'm one of the poor people who don't have the money that has to be lodged in a thai bank to live there so I am forced to visit when I can and my wife visits me. At the moment I am living in the USA but am moving back to NZ shortly and my wife will come over there. She lives in Bangkok but we have just built a little house in NW Thailand and she will settle there as she gets older near her Mother. Its a little village named Ban Than in Mahasarakham Issan. Not to insult but with your tone and British accent I understand Pookie better than you. Udonthani is where we go in Thailand. Unfortunately it will be 3 years in August since we been back. We stay at the Nong Bua hotel. Very friendly staff. I would love to send you an email but don't see an address. Thanks for showing what's currently happening in Udonthani.
