I have been following your channel for at least 6 months and have implemented your hair tips. I have seen a drastic change in my hair and my daughter's. My hair isn't dry anymore. I use a water mixture, a leave in conditioner, avocado oil and a cantu cream styler. I follow your technique exactly! I also do the braids and cornrows as my protective style. I am still trying to find a good protein treatment. What do you suggest? And Thanks for sharing 😊 💞

I do that!!! I never thought it was a thing!. I start with water in the shower, then leave in, in the shower, then I put a plastic cap and get out. I let the leave in sit for about 15 20 min. My hair is already sectioned. Then I tackle each section with a bit more water then my oil. After my oil, I use my styler.. generally wetline clear. My wash and go can last 7/8 days.
@jeanettejbeauty63745 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you're doing the same :-) Yes, many times I say what I'm doing and it got so redundant so I said WLOS and many people wanted to know what it was so I decided to make a video :-) This really helps keep our hair nice and moisturized.
@Godisloven095 жыл бұрын
JeanetteJBeauty yes it does. I really don’t have to remoisturize during the week but I do it generally mid week, but I only use water. I band my hair each night and when I wake up, I take off the bands and spritz my hair with my 360 sprayer so it doesn’t get too wet. Then I hop in the shower and the steam makes my hair drop. By the time I’m ready to leave for work, my hair is dry and all have to do is fluff my hair with my fingers and it’s a wrap.

It's helping, the wetting cycle is key. I haven't wet my hair since last Saturday or Sunday and it's very moist and soft. Depends on how you need to wet it for WLOS. I last wet it with vinegar water lightly. Not even a full wetting. Then put some conditioner and light oil. Every day since oil on my scalp and massage it through.

People she said a 4 day old wash and go. On day 4 my hair is straight. I call my hair, never the same. Never the same texture, weight, length, width, volume or color. Day 1, beautiful waves at the scalp estremely shiny with fluffy ends. Day 2, loose flowy curl wave look. Day 3 loose flat semi waves with straight ends. My pineapple looks like I stuck my hand in a light socket. Day 4, straight, little bit of waves and some fluff. Very very full and don't know what to call it. Not really kinky but straight fluffy. Looks like I have black hair though. Took a year and a half to figure her out. Oil straightens my hair. She hates coconut oil so most of the product lines are out for me. Oh, and she retains moisture so I wet her only to recondition her or to get the tight wave day 1 look. No wonder Jeanette"s hair looks so great. It is consistent.

How often do you wet your hair using the WLOS method? How long does your hair take to dry after doing the WLOS. I might try it but I wet my hair maybe once a week. Because it retains moisture. And takes forever too dry after wetting. I wash it once a month. If I did it sooner it would be extremely dry. Shampoo or cowash disturbs my natural oil production. Usually use rosemary, amla or tea tree oil to keep my scalp clean. I have learned how to control my volume from Jeanette. Because my hair is super thick and wide. It's long but it gets thicker with length. Like her I use braids to not make her look so big. I'm 3c or something.

If it wasn't for youtubers and the hair videos I would be lost. I find people with close to my hair type but haven't found anyone with it. Waves doesn't curl. Doesn't dry easy. I usually part it in sections, put it into ponytails and manipulate it into drying. If I didn't it would remain dripping wet. After 8 hours not dripping but seriously still wet. Takes a braid out and sleeping, plus, next day. But still feels moist not completely dry. Won't ever twist too soft. Even braids I have to bind them to stop from unraveling. Doesn't like protein or the hair care products. Mielle custard and Shea Moisture JBCO shampoo every once and awhile. It's challenging. But Jeanette has taught me how to control the thickness thru styling. A wash and go no way. My hair looks like a lion's mane. Less volume on top the length comes from the top, sides, and back, so long and super wide. I braid the sides going back to try and control the volume. I cut it today some. It also grows fast so it keeps changing in texture and volume. Why I call her never the same. No day can I get up to do my hair and it will be the same as the day before.

Hey Jeanette! I just wanted to say this video was very helpful in terms of product application for certain styles. It confirmed what I was thinking about some things and I how want to start reevaluating some of the methods that I use on my hair. Question, what is/are the difference(s) of the WLOS method in comparison to the LOC method? I'm a long time follower on here and IG. I do have a moisture issue on my fine, curly hair and major shrinkage and this video helped a lot! I usually do the LOC method but after watching your video, I may have been doing a variation of the WLOS method all along, but probably not using my tools effectively and not using enough product. Thank you for always providing such informative and fun videos!

Hello... I'm protein sensitive and low porosity. I believe you are too. I'll try the spray leave-in and see how it works for me. I used the shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner based on your recommendation and I do like it. I 'm just a little afraid of protein overload. You haven't experienced that with these products correct?

I just founded you,i loved you & i Just subscrived.about WLOS i've been using the kind of this method for 6 years now.but i didnt know it has a name i use water first then leave in,then an moisturizin oil,a styler(cream) & the last a heavy oil(i use castor oil) so i guess mine i should call WLOSO.also thanks 4 the tip to put oil in water,i will try.

Do you have any measurements for your water 💦 mixture?
@jeanettejbeauty63745 жыл бұрын
Latanya Hairiston I don’t I really eyeball it. I’d say the ratio is around a cup of water two tablespoons of vegetable glycerin and a tablespoon of vitamin e oil

Been doing something similar to this for a couple of years. It's like the Anthony dickey of hair rules method and similar to jaded tresses aka the curl whisperer. Check out there KZbin videos for examples. This is a good way to help to keep the curl pattern you have when your hair is wet.

Thanks for your comment however, based on what you said, I'm not sure that you fully understand what the WLOS method is. This is definitely not like the Anthony Dickey method as I looked into it again and his method is strictly for wash and go's while the WLOS method is for moisturizing and styling your hair no matter what style including protective styles. Also, his method includes washing your hair and the WLOS method don't include wash days and while he doesn't include deep conditioning the hair I highly recommend it. There are also other differences. One thing for sure in both methods is that water is key and a lot of it. With the curl whisperer, there are also many differences and looking at her method she doesn't use leave-ins or oils a lot and adds stylers AND butters. Again this is NOT similar to the WLOS method. The WLOS method is a method use to moisturize your hair AFTER wash day and style your hair into any style of your choice. The order is ALWAYS: 1. Water/ water mixture 2. Leave-in Conditioner 3. Oil 4. Styler

JeanetteJBeauty thanks for answering her comment so thoroughly as I was thinking similar to the original commenter!! Somehow I thought I heard you say in the beginning of your video that you do this “straight from wash day when you’re about to style your hair”.... so it’s not dependent on wash day? I was also thinking it was similar to what i think is called the LCO method I’ve seen videos of where the L is Liquid (water) the C is a leave in conditioner and the O is Oil followed by the styler of choice to actually get a style. Thanks for clearing that up- GREAT VIDEO.

@@jeanettejbeauty6374 I love your videos. They have really helped me out with my hair. I use your oil water mix suggestion which works wonders. Now I have to get some of that glycerin. I know you like brand products but I don't recall seeing a low end/cheap wash day video. Coin is tight so any advice would be helpful. 😊😁
