I don't believe in "destiny" but I suspect your having gone to university in Japan will significantly change the course of your life. There are so many opportunities you will have with the degree and massively improved Japanese skills you worked on while in Japan and getting your degree. Ten years from now, twenty years from now, you'll see.

I’ll testify as the student who fell off in his last few years of high school. Looking at a big opportunity like this , I could’ve been really going places. I was willing to go to Japan and work, and I realize how tough that will be without something like this backing me. This motivates me even IF I don’t have the credentials yet to see this through. I will kick myself into high gear and start taking my life a lot more seriously! Your channel is the best !
@kemushichan6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your sweet comments! :) There are still other opportunities as well, scholarship programs etc. But yes, the *high gear* factor and motivated drive will definitely help steer you places. I know a few students who paid their way through college, or took a break in high school, but after enrolling in community college (USA) were granted with study abroad scholarships like the FEA program. You don't necessarily need the cookie-cutter timeline/path through education but its a must to show how dedicated/serious you are. :D I hope your dreams take you on an amazing journey.

+Cierra M Thanks for watching! I just wanted to add the caveat that some schools DO provide English tracks. Also, if you stay as a research student for two years (and dont become a degree student)you will audit classes WITHOUT being graded, so there's no pressure to have perfect Japanese. Most of my peers here are still learning so they'll spend about two years studying before switching into the degree. Its a verrryyyy flexible program. PLUS, I also dont know your family situation but you can travel back home dueing your time. =)

I applied for the MEXT scholarship about 20 years ago. It was also for studying in graduate school. My intention was to do as you are doing and turn it into a chance to get a master's degree. I had already passed JLPT1, and I'd say the Japanese part wasn't that hard. I ended up getting turned down, and I think the reason was that they felt that my background wasn't "special" enough. In other words, I was proposing to research Japanese organizational management (i.e. HR related stuff). My undergrad degree was in math, along with a handful of business and economics courses, but I assumed that the reason I got turned down was that my background didn't meet their standards. My question is, how did your background match up with the research proposal you wrote about in your application? Second, MEXT scholarship recipients used to get a stipend in addition to free tuiton. I think it used to be 150,000 yen/month (about $1300 or so). Do MEXT scholarship students still get that? (if you feel comfortable talking about it)

I have a question, you said you have to take a Japanese exam, what level should I be at to pass it? You said not to worry, but I'm just starting my Japanese language journey, so I don't know if I will be able to get to that level in two years??

ahmed basbet عربي! انت من وين؟ نفس الشي السفارة عندنا ما تساعد كثير للاسف. لو موظفين سفاراتنا يكونوا متعاونين مثل السفارة اللي في امريكا كان بيكون احسن بكثير.

I have a question on the research portion. Do you need to come up with a research question or can you also do research with a professor within a certain field? I am thinking about applying for this scholarship but personally I do not have a research question that I would want to do necessarily. I wish to do research in a science related field but I want to do this scholarship because I want to learn the language. I'm not sure if that is a good enough reason to be competitive enough, it just seems like a really intimidating process like you said. But thank you I found out about the MEXT scholarship through this video. If (that's if) I do get accepted I will have you to thank.

Thank you for the information!!! But do we really have to learn hiragana, katakana, and kanji for the exam? I'm a grade 8 student from Canada, and I really want to have a scholarship in japan since it's closer to my original country (Philippines). And do all scholars get the chance to live in Tokyo? By the way, you're really good with the Japanese accent!!!👍✌️😀

@kemushichan4 жыл бұрын
@@robenjean1727 If you application is ready to submit, then yes, submit! You don't need to email the embassy if you just want to submit.

Any advice for ‘requirements’ for getting accepted? I’m going into my senior year of high school and the one year study sounds amazing but my grades aren’t great
