Not going to lie. This may be one of my favorite videos you have done. There are some other top contenders out there (Drawing Objects in Perspective is probably my all time favorite) but this one is definitely up there. Great content, your fun sense of humor, and it was informative. I feel like your going to realize come June or July that this channel is going to be the sweet-spot, your going to have the most fun here, and your really going to have engaged audiences. Your other channel is great (the reason I became a member the first place) but it has a specific purpose (reviews mainly) with this channel you can really open your creative doors and just have fun, and when your having fun it shows and we have more fun. Just my two cents for the day lol

I’m planning this year to make animated short stories as well but just needed some confidence boost before starting first video. Your last 3 videos on main channel and on this channel, including this video, encouraged me to start and try whatever how it may turn out. Thanks Brad, looking forward to seeing more content from you this year and all the best.

Thanks so much Titus! A few years back you posted a video about tech KZbin and how it prizes speed and timeliness over quality. And I feel like I've been on that hamster wheel for years. This channel is me trying to step off that wheel. Quality content that is hopefully more evergreen than tech. Anyway, I just wanted to say double thanks for the comment here because coming from you, someone who totally knows that grind, it means a lot!!

Nicely broken down Brad, planning, script, story boarding your so right best use of your time before you start the big stuff. Your story board reel was perfect, does it capture the scene and easy to follow, explain what the focus of that scene is, totally!!!😊 think it was a great example, especially including a voice over/read. Can’t wait to see more, 🙂

12:32 - What about Grease Pencil... within Blender? It's 2D, but you can work on multiple levels, for that ViewMaster effect. It's vector based, but it looks and works as if it is just a raster drawing app, until you want to edit a vector. Heck, for a while, I thought it was just raster based. Then, you can incorporate 3d into your mostly 2d animation.... but only if you want to. (Again, I haven't actually tried it. Let's just say that I do a lot of research about software that I might want to use for other things that I REALLY want to do.... 🤷)
@BradsArtSchoolКүн бұрын
Funny story. Yesterday I started my next video for this channel and it's all about Blender. I'm still working on the script but I plan on covering Grease Pencil... or maybe that will be a seperat video... but yeah I'm not super familair with it right now but that's going to be changing soon.
@GrantSRКүн бұрын
@BradsArtSchool I'm not super familiar with Grease Pencil either. But the videos that I have seen make it look very very awesome. Personally, I always tend toward open source things for me to try and learn, so that if I want to share that with other people, they can do it too even if they can't afford commercial software. I always keep in mind what I'm going to be passing on to the next person. Whether that be physical things, the environment that we live in, or just knowledge that I put in my head.

It's beyond me why you won't give Reallusion's Cartoon Animator a look. It has so many time saving features compared to every tool you've mentioned here. It would make creating the animation for this channel so much quicker.

i know what it’s like to try all the manifestation tips you see online and still feel stuck. that was me, too. nothing worked until i found Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane. there’s something about the way it explains energy that makes it all so clear. when i read chapter 3, everything fell into place-it’s like the missing piece i didn’t know i needed.

You’re about the third person (3 including me) that has ever mentioned using adobe animate. Even adobe has forgotten it’s one of their products. Am curious why you used Animate with pngs instead of vectors ? Isn’t that a job for after effects ? I think people should use what they feel comfortable with and can achieve their goal, just thought id ask with your drawings coming from procreate. And you mentioned something like ‘PNGs may have been a mistake but more on that later’ . Since that didn’t come up , does that mean there’s a part two??! I hope so. Your drawing for beginners class is amazing and you are very multi talented , including the gift of being able to break concepts down and teach them which truly is a gift. So happy to see you back with such quality content !! ✨
@BradsArtSchoolКүн бұрын
Thanks! ohmygosh I just realized I cut that part but still referenced it in the video 🤦. oops. The PNG thing got kinda cluncky, If I had drawn more directly in Animate then it's easier to edit the artwork so going forward I am doing more of the drawing in Animate and saving procreate for just backgrounds. I actually did that a lot more in this video. Why do I use animate over After Effects? I like the hand drawn frame by frameness, even though after effcts is better at moving things across the screen and doing effects. I also was doing web design back in the day when Adobe Animate was called Adobe Flash so I still know the program really well.
