i really admire your confidence in having a brave ideology of how to paint. That there's no right way, only the way that works for you best. I really needed that, as someone who keeps putting myself down thinking my own take on/ideology of painting isn't good enough or plain out wrong.

I’m so happy you took the time and effort to do the stars like you did- you didn’t go the lazy way flicking and splatting white paint. Yours maintains the magical quality and value.
@Seven11seven74 жыл бұрын
He still traced the image. Which was lazy
@lesleywells34974 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on what you want from your art, or someone else’s. If he can produce high quality fast and he’s happy with it, who cares that he traced. If he likes to splatter paint, no big deal. I wouldn’t criticize. I just appreciate that he maintained a certain aesthetic. If I thought splatter produces the same aesthetic I wouldn’t say a thing. Anyway, a person doesn’t have to be a great drawer to paint. It turned out great.
@lala-44584 жыл бұрын
@@Seven11seven7 Tracing isn't lazy, tracing is a skill that is earned though it depends how it's used, imo and he used it fine because he knows his fundamentals

Something that's been keeping me from learning new things in art is always thinking that everything I'm going to do always has to be perfect. I tend to forget to let loose and just go with what feels right for me because of how much I think there's supposed to be a "pattern" or a "way" that needs to be followed. Your videos have helped me get back into painting. It's so exciting to learn new things with a different mindset. I'm genuinely thankful for that!

Incredible painting, incredible video. Thank you for showing your process, including the use of tracing at the beginning. I feel like so many artists are ashamed or feel like they are "cheating" when they achieve their line drawing through tracing, I know I felt that way for a long time. But after watching your video I realize it really depends on the work and the artist. I believe it is such a useful skill that can be implemented in so many ways. There is no wrong way to achieve your composition, just as you say. So much more work goes into a painting such as this, beyond the simple initial line drawing. To me, using a reference and taking it to another creative level, as well as the manipulation of the paint and the colour is truly what matters in a piece. Would love to hear your thoughts on tracing in more detail in another video

tracing isn't really a skill lol. It just takes the skill out of drawing it yourself.
