@alldayhyperdude64414 жыл бұрын
Hello, I was wondering. How much effort do you put into prepping the models in regard to filling(?) the mold line and al that sort of stuff. I find that I get lost in the amount of work it actually is to put together miniatures and so. Also I've watched others using valejo's fluorescent green to get a real nice glow effect in the same way as you use warp lighting. So perhaps this is a good alternative for the GW paint, I think?
@SonicSledgehammerStudio4 жыл бұрын
When I'm cleaning mould lines, flash and the like from a miniature, I tend to concentrate mostly on areas where either two parts will meet - which could result in a bad join if I leave something there - or which are visible easily to the outside. The inner line of legs and under arms and such I'll usually just quickly buzz, but not fuss with. I also generally find it easier to use the back of a hobby knife to scrape away the lines rather than a file, but you might be ahead of me on that one. :) I haven't tried Vallejo's fluorescent stuff so I couldn't really make a direct comparison, but if it works, all the more reason to try it!
@alldayhyperdude64414 жыл бұрын
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Thanks for the tips. And I will tackle those mould lines (not mold lines, because you can probably use a spray for that) as best as I can, but perhaps be more selective as tot where I put the most work. Thank you very much! And also thank you for the channel, you really helped me to get started with the painting hobby!

Hey total random request but can you show what the necron conpound looks like in the pot. Mine is like a solid and wiping my dry brush over it doesn't budge it. Tried stabbing it with the dry brush and all it did was turn into chunks. I've had a pot of Sigmarite the same way. Pretty rubbery and shiny on top, but without being able to really 'dig' into it to get paint out? It might be a bum pot. Issues I have with this video (because isn't that an obligatory requirement when commenting on a Sledge painting video? ) :D 1. The title is out of date. This will work splendidly for 10th edition! 2. That's the wrong shade of black. If you knew anything about real world history you'd know Necron cables had a more green/black tone than say a red, blue, purple, white, fluorescent pink or a pearlescent green/red black. So there you go. A needless whiney criticism before I seriously say: Thank you for making this video 3 years ago. I will use it in the near future to paint some Necrons for 10th Ed Combat Patrol :)

When you apply the warp lightening how do you stop it looking patchy?
@SonicSledgehammerStudio3 жыл бұрын
Ordinarily if I'm getting patchy Contrast coverage, I either need to shake the devil out of it before applying, or the colour it's going over it's quite smooth enough. If you keep getting the same issue, try a little dab of gloss varnish over the white bobblies before applying the Warp Lightning.

I have no idea how you got the warp lighting to look like that because when I tried it just turned out super patchy and much darker
