I have a lotttt of friends from Trinidad who are in the med program so I've heard of scholarships for you guys like the "Gate" scholarship, etc. Which, as far as I know, would be applied after your tuition is subsidized (since you would be a student from a contributing country, like me). I'm not too familiar with the particulars of those other scholarships unfortunately but I know there are options for you guys to have your tuition reduced as well! All the best!!

Thank you for watching! 🙌🏾 I’ve seen some people have part-time jobs or side hustles while in med school. It’s not IMPOSSIBLE but as someone who has a small business right now while in med school, I would advise against it if you can avoid it. It takes up way too much time but could serve as a good distraction and source of extra funds if needed but be careful to not lose focus!

Hey, Selanny! Thanks so much for watching! When I was looking into med schools, I had a friend (who was already at Mona studying med) who advised me to only apply to Mona and that's exactly what I did haha. I didn't really do due diligence and look into applying to the other campuses, if I could be honest 🙈 Maybe the difference in subsidization was why he suggested I only apply to Mona but I'm not too sure. I just went with it. I trusted his judgment lol. Mona is also for known for its med program while Cave Hill is more known for law, etc. I'm glad I could help! Thank you!!

Hey there! Yes you can definitely do undergrad at UB! I have a lot of classmates who went that route. You can even skip undergrad altogether and just do the preliminary year at UWI then go straight into med. I hope this helps!
