I love how you improved your layout to the table a lot more lean to do. I used to bujo in 2015 for my Etsy shop business and now getting back into sewing, I wanted a better way to track my sewing so getting back into using it for bujo. Going to use this table layout. Thank you so much for sharing.

Hi Lizzie, I love bullet journal! The idea that you are not bound to a strict way to plan is awesome! I changed my way a few times already. You inspired me to modify mine again :) it’s so much fun 😍thanks for sharing!

Thank you this was so useful. I was struggling to plan using my vertical journal that’s already got it’s pages packed lines and structure. I need to get a bullet journal!

Yay I'm glad you like it! I like to be able to see as much info at once as possible so it works well for me so far :)

Thank you for this! I have so many ideas in my head. This will definitely give it out and put it into action. By seasons is a great idea. I sew home decor and personal accessories. I can easily use Word Doc and print out a whole bunch.

I bought Athina’s planner. I love it. It’s really helping me to get organised. Bullet journals are not my thing I must admit. Looking forward to seeing some new makes from you when you get a chance.

I never thought of writing anything down for my sewing!! I sew American Girl doll clothes for craft shows, so I write lists of what I have and what I want or need to make. I’ve just started sewing for myself again so I don’t have a stash! I remember when I used to sew for myself, fabrics and patterns got out of hand!! This time I’m going to buy a piece of fabric and sew it-so hopefully no stash except for season ahead sewing!! I’m also doing more of a color module, so I’m buying fabrics that will go with each other, not just buying things that are pretty!! Wish me luck!!!

Diana I think your philosophy is perfect! It’s so easy to allow a stash to get out of hand and I try and keep mine very small (one large drawer in a dresser currently!). I love your aim of sticking with a colour scheme/palette too rather than just the magpie fabrics. Whilst tonnes of florals are lovely it’s plains that I’m drawn to everyday. I hope you enjoy getting back into dressmaking for yourself!

Hi Lizzie, I have bought Athinas planner and I love it. I'm not that great at being organised with my sewing so hoping that this will encourage me to set things up in a more ordered fashion 😉....wish me luck 👍😘

Hi there, I use pinterest quite a lot to plan makes. I have various boards that help me plan like one that has inspiration pictures, one with my fabric stash, one with my patterns, both pdf and paper, and then a board where I pin patterns I am considering making. Eventually items on the last board get culled and a few get moved to the purchased board and made. Once it moves up to make status I use a list app in my phone to make a shopping list organized by stores I am likely to find the items. My sketches and notes about the pattern are kept with my pattern when I fold it up and store after it is made. Maybe it WOULD be easier to have that all in one book, ha! Ha! but this system works quite well so far. Happy Sewing!

Oh wow I'm so impressed that you've found a way to use pinterest for planning your sewing. I love pinterest for collecting inspiration from other people but have never used it to collect my own ideas together. Thanks so much for sharing :)

Your method and Athina's look so nice I just write in a spiral notebook. It is not supper pretty but it works well for me. I have a project/video per page. Thank you for sharing your method.

It doesn't matter about being pretty if the method works for you! Thanks for letting me know how you like to do things - it's so useful to get inspiration from other people. I used to do a project per page too :)

I love your idea with the bullet journal. Athena's is nice but I find an A5 easier to carry around so will definitely will be trying your version out. I think I will add a tiny piece of fabric in to jog my memory if it works out. Thanks!

Thank you June!. Great idea to add a fabric swatch. You could always change the printer settings to print a pdf like Athena's out in A5 size and then trim the excess off. I love my bullet journal though!

I wonder if you plan acc to type of item to sew, like if you will sew a lined dress --- then sew all your lined dresses acc to the same plan? For instance: Day one : fasten pattern pieces on fabric and change details acc to your size, cut them out. Day two: baste the fabric pieces together and test the dress on. Mark for changes and try on again. Day three: If satisfied, sew the pieces together. Iron the item. Try on. Day 4: If satisfied, do step 1-3 with the lining. Day 5: add details: collars, pockets, belt loops, arms, any other details. Or any order you appreciate. Then, allow for a list of items you have sewn acc to your plan Above the plan -- or beside it, so you have them collected in one space, make room for any number of items you chose to make acc to that plan. Make another plan for trousers etc. Or have different plans for different kind of dresses, blouses etc - depending if they are lined or not, if they have extra decorations, if they have arms or not. If they have different kinds of skirts on them, like thin skirts, or wide skirts. Plan in one day for choosing and buying the fabric of an item.
