Love the way you use a bullet journal for sewing. I’m really happy to see you understanding that we as seamstresses use our creative juices to develop fabric articles whereas others use their creativity to develop journals.

Currently, I'm using the free project and sewing planning templates from The Fold Line. I want/need a system that is already organized for me. All I have to do is print and paste the templates into my journal then fill out accordingly. I find this system saves time but doesn't necessarily spark inspiration or creativity. I have been spray gluing my fabric swatches into my journal. However, I will begin stapling them. You are right. Using adhesive distorts the fabric texture and drape. Thanks for another great video!

Kristie Price thank you! Ah the fold line templates look great and so interesting to hear your experience using them. Definitely think they’re super useful for some people but for me using a template just wasn’t helpful because my projects tend to vary so much! If you use staples, I have also started using a bit of pretty washi tape to cover the back of the staples 😊 just feels less lethal that way! 😂

Have you tried using double sided sticky tape along the top of your fabric swatch ?

Thanks for sharing your system. I never considered planning my makes before but am starting to feel a little overwhelmed by all the ideas swirling around my head (and fabric filling up my guest room!) Have ordered a notebook and will definitely start using some of these ideas. I notice in a couple of vlogs you've mentioned curating. It's a very good point. Time is precious so why waste it making stuff I don't really need or want to wear just to practice a new skill or because I fancy the fabric. Do I really need 700 floral dresses when I only have one plain top? Etc Hoping that planning will help me focus my time and energy on really useful projects that will suit me and look fabulous.

I have been bullet journaling for three years now but have only included small amounts of my sewing progress. Unsurprisingly, my sewing is really random and not thought through. I have made the decision to have a dedicated sewing journal to focus my thoughts, Thanks for sharing yours.

Thanks for sharing your journal, it's given me lots of ideas for mine! I've been printing out the line drawings for patterns and taping them in my journal instead of drawing them

Sally Dingle thank you Sally! Glad you enjoyed it. I’m so excited about my current plans... just have to somehow find the budget to get the fabric! X

Craftwerk I know what you mean..... I'm a gardener and I haven't been able to get back to work since Christmas because of the atrocious weather 😫. Hopefully it will improve for us both soon 😁😘

Sally Dingle ah no! So tough when there are so many beautiful fabrics and so many brilliant plans... And not enough time or money! 😫 I’m so impatient as well! But I will have to stagger makes and be sensible... for now 😉

I love the way you've done your bullet journal- I've been feeling for a while that it would be a useful tool for me but intimidated by all the fancy artwork! Yours is great. I just wondered if you have a section in it just for sewing projects? If so how much space have you allocated it? Or do you go from the back? Or will your sewing pages be interspersed among the other stuff eventually? Hope that makes sense! 💗

Nancy Harvey-Kemper thank you! I put everything to do with sewing in the back and just go from there. I tried intertwining everything but just found that I preferred having it separate and with sewing ideas all in one place so when I wanted to make something I could look through everything quickly and decide what project to start ☺️ hope that helps!
