Hello everyone! I apologize for not posting for the past two weeks, I've been using my time off from school to relax and recharge before next semester starts. I just finished my first semester in college and tbh I didn’t really do amazing and I got put on academic probation. I’m genuinely really disappointed because this isn’t like me at all, but Ive been working on a plan to just ultimately do better and keep myself more organized. I learned it wasn’t the amount of the work I was given because it really wasn’t a lot, it had more to do with me just not doing the work. These types of videos are definitely helping me out a lot and giving me such a positive outlook for the upcoming semester. I also believe I’ll ultimately do better since it won’t be cold and grey all the time and it’ll help with all that seasonal depression stuff 🤍🤍

first of all, thank you so much for being so open about the not-so-glamorous side of college -- i definitely feel like it isn't talked about nearly enough, and i know that most college students can relate to situations like yours. and secondly, i know you've got this!! it's great that you're actively taking steps to make sure that your next semester goes better than your previous one. that shows that you're not dwelling on the past and you're trying to improve your future, as you should! i remember my first semester of college didn't go well at all, either. honestly, the first semester is always the hardest for most people. i had so much anxiety due to all the new changes in my life, and i was also in an extremely rigorous academic program at the time, so i ended up doing poorly in multiple classes. watching other people's planning videos and switching up my planning/organization definitely helped me do better in future semesters, and i hope it helps you too! and seasonal depression is SO real, i have the same workload during cold months and warmer months and i always find myself feeling so much happier during the warmer months 🤷🏾‍♀️ you're definitely not alone in any of this, and i'm rooting for you!! 🫶

I just watched your video, I loved it you gave me a lot of ideas, also you can create a template of your semester in notion and then create a button that will duplicate that template so you don't have to change too many things

Yup instead of duplicating a blank template, I just duplicated an already-filled-out template because I change a ton of things from semester to semester based on my different classes. I definitely recommend your approach for people who have more uniformly structured classes though!

I'd definitely like to see an updated Notion tour at the end of the semester, and your experience of putting all of your documents into Notion. I've considered it, but I feel like my folder system on my laptop is working for me so I don't know if I want to bother with that. I'd love to hear your take on it though!

my procrastination tendency and perfectionism just do not let me past step 1 cause I will be thinking about the to do list, how to do it, when, with which paper and where- online or or paper, how I want it to look like, which steps I want to include, if I wanna start a whole new journal for it etc etc etc :D

I hope you know with the syllabus you can put it into a word doc then import it to notion and the whole thing comes up and you can rearrange it how u want I just found this out a couple days ago while doing my notion board. Just thought I could help but I love the video it’s really good when people find things that works for them and keeps them successful

With cleaning old files do have any backup on the side that you know you might need or if haven’t used them in while

everything I have on goodnotes is automatically backed up to google drive, and I manually upload all my other important files to google drive as well

Hi ericka! I think using templates that already exist is the best way to set up notion, and then you can make custom edits from there (I don’t think there would be enough material for me to make a whole video dedicated to this, but maybe someone else has already made a similar video). It gets easier to use the more you use it :)

You can also embed your google calendar through indify, or just the embed code available in your google calendar :))

Yes! I just love the aesthetic of using notion blocks to lay out my schedule inside of notion haha but I definitely recommend your approach for anyone who doesn’t want to spend time on transferring their schedule over!
