Congratulations on your new marriage and the journey to building your family! I think it’s so amazing when women realize the healing they need prior to conception and am so happy for you! I wish I had known more of this when I first got married! I’m so happy you found this video helpful! I’ll definitely plan a part 2 soon to share a bit more of knowledge/research around this topic! In the meantime, if you don’t already follow Noelle Kovary on Instagram I highly recommend her page for all things fertility, pregnancy, and preparation for motherhood! I’ve learned so much from her wisdom!

ohmylanta! this is so good! i actually found your channel at the start of my detox journey, and this is the most helpful video i’ve seen, along with Madison Gray on ‘how i healed my body naturally’ in light of all this, i would say it’s been essential for me to pray first in all things because it can overwhelming and give myself grace. thanks, Ammie, for being a positive voice while providing the space for these thought provoking content/topics!

Aww thank you so much, friend! I most definitely would add praying for this sort of healing and the process that comes along with it and His strength through it all. Your kind comments always brighten my day and I’m always so happy to hear from you on here! I’ll have to check out the video from Madison, I haven’t seen it. Thanks for sharing!

Unfortunately for every nutrition study there are just as many opposing studies with conflicting info so people dont know exactly where to look for the right information. Logically though i dont think people can debate an ancestral diet being better for you than a processed diet, its how we survived all this time before modern conveniences took over. Even 100 years ago we didnt really have grocery stores like we do now, people dealt directly with other growers and farmers to work out what they needed and didnt have and any grocery store that existed had a very small number of items, for example one store might just have bread, another store has a butcher who owns pigs and chickens, one might have cows and goats, and processed food was nonexistant. The best diets are closest to nature, and if you are having a hard time deciding if something is good or bad for you its best to consider how every ingredient in it came to be there. How did red food dye, flour, artificial strawberry flavor, fortified vitamins, etc end up in a pop tart? Not healthy. How did that bell pepper end up in your stir fry, easier to understand health of something to think of it that way. Also agree with you on what you said about people saying your just lucky to be so fertile/healthy/etc, i get this a lot recently because of 2 back to back pregnancies but it took years to even get to that point, not to get too personal but i just was not going to get pregnant for a long time before that due to health issues i had to work on and people just dont seem to recognize that or care that i took effort to fix those health issues, as if i never had them or they werent bad enough or something even though i spent years balancing out my body to get to a better point(though admittedly still far from perfect). Also one thing about nausea in pregnancy that i found helpful is eating more protein. I will feel so sick and like a starved wolf if i dont eat protein and i can feel my entire body crave it more than just a taste for something. You start to notice if something you eat makes you feel better or worse and idk if we get used to ignoring that or just dont care but i found getting in tune with your body goes a long way, pregnant or not. Drinking enough water also cant be emphasized enough, everyone complains because we all hear it so much but we hear it for a reason, if youve ever had a headache go away after drinking a big glass of water and realize that helped its probably a sign that it happens more than you would think. I get a bit of an aversion to water when im nauseas but dehydration can make you nauseas too so id force myself through it and end up feeling better and have an easier time getting it down after that. Also dont be afraid to "get fat" when your pregnant, you can take the weight back off later and my brother in law said if you think about it you have two bodies of blood sugar to regulate so one of you will suffer if you dont eat enough and it kinda helps. My mom also told me babies eat every 2-3 hours so if you feel hungry 2 hours after you just ate it shouldnt come as any big surprise lol. Anyways hope some of this helps someone out there and wishing you well!!

I love your detailed and thoughtful response to this!! Thank you!! It’s is so hard to know what’s type of “diet” to follow now days for the very reason you mentioned. So many opposing opinions and studies for all of them! And thank you for sharing a bit of your healing journey before your pregnancies! It’s very unheard of that mamas take control of their health prior to conception but instead just blame the pregnancy not realizing the body just wasn’t in a fully healed state prior! I am far from perfect in this too but have come a long way since my first pregnancy! Thank you so much for sharing your kind and and practical tips to encourage other sweet mamas!

I’m pretty sure I’m addicted to sugar like white refined sugar help! It’s been so hard to cut it out. I use it in everything, nothing taste the same so I keep getting it.

Hi friend! I use sugar too still and contrary to what we’ve been told by many, I don’t believe sugar to be the enemy. It’s our bodies preferred fuel source. It’s those PUFAS when eaten along with lots of sugars when the issues occur. But with that being said, I don’t think any food addiction can be good. I’d try my hardest to try lowering the amounts and switching to a raw sugar instead of refined processed . Panela cane sugar is my favorite!! amzn.to/3U4xKys

Do you eat corn on the cob? Is that the same corn oil you’re talking about?
@AmmieHarris
@AmmieHarris 6 ай бұрын
We occasionally eat corn on the cob in the summertime when it’s in season. Any food in it’s natural form is not a fear food for me when eaten in moderation. I don’t think I mentioned corn oil though in this video, but it is a form of vegetable oil and I’d avoid it in it’s processed form. It’s been heated to get to that form and in nature we would not consume that much from corn at one time. Kind of the same comparison as eating a handful of nuts vs copious amount of nut butter/flours!

Question you said birth control can affect you years later. I took it for one year ten years ago do you think it could still be affecting?
@AmmieHarris
@AmmieHarris 6 ай бұрын
Hi Leah! I definitely think any amount of time you are on it can affect you in some ways. I don’t think it will be as substantial as say someone who’s been on it for 5-10 years but to some extent, yes I think so! But since it’s been 10 year ago, I would think if you’ve done some estrogen detoxing, looked at your iron overload, and thyroid healing that it hopefully would not. If not, I’d look into some of those things!

@@AmmieHarris I'm got to start eating raw carrot salad. I've been told I have low progesterone but I don't know why yet but maybe it's just too much estrogen. I was taking a lot of iron supplements when I was pregnant 3 years ago maybe that caused an overload. I feel like you said something about using copper to help with too much iron? I can't find the video though. I've been trying for my second baby and have had three miscarriages. We're taking a break from trying and going to get some tests done to try and find the cause. I'm thinking of doing some detoxing in the meantime. Your videos so helpful thank you!
