Really enjoyed your video, I also live in Pacific Northwest and have been picking, eating and preserving chantrels for many, many years. I really do like your way of putting them in the plastic containers, freeze, and pop them into the large zip lock plastic bags! I am doing that as I text you! I like freezing them better than the long job of pressure canning them. I have liked them sauteed in butter then freeze, but never thought of popping the blocks out and freezing the blocks into a large bag. Thanks fo much

well ive always dehydrated my chanterelles or pickled them- with the dehydrated chanterelles i love to make a spice powder just by adding different herbs, seasonings and salt. This year i'd like to start freezing my chanterelles I never did in the past because my husband only likes them crispy and not mushy and i'm not sure if you can fry them up the same way after you freeze them? like when I freeze my matsutakes, i just slice them without even cooking them, place the sliced matsutakes on a tray to freeze them then i'll seal them up in individual packets to fry up for him later or steam for myself that works really really well. Another way i use up my chanterelles is by adding them to in my case veggie-style burgers and then freezing them for later, of course, you could make mushroom burgers with meat and freeze them too. Ive been making mushroom pate but not sure if you can freeze it. I'll try your method, now you didn't strain the mushroom broth out? Oh forgot another method you can do to store your chanterelles without taking a lot of space and that's making a soup, you can freeze that flat, not sure if you pick nettles but i do that for nettle soup also and you fit a lot in your freezer without taking up space. Chanterelle Nettle soup is really good.
