Own individuals. And for that no one would should judge anyone or put anyone down. I was taught not only by my grandma, mom and the Bible- "If you don't have anything nice to say-Then don't say it all"! I was with my X a total of 22 yrs, 1 child and married for 13. And took my Vows very seriously to the core. I did everything in my power to make our Marriage work, for I didn't want my child being from a Broken Home! Unfortunately, HS Sweethearts Do Fall out of Love With Another! My daughter today holds a grudge against me! Sad but true, she's was too young to remember the Verbal,Mental, Physc abuse that I was going through! I will definitely be sub to your channel-For you are so Intelligent with all of your accomplishments! Hats off to you! Hold your high and Be Proud Of You and Your Family! God Bless you in this crazy world we live in... Take care!

Got my first negative/hate comment!! *See below* I'm actually going to be very liberal with comments on my channel/videos and treat it as I have in any of the classes (of over 2,000+ students I have for high school and middle school). I'm not here to win popularity contests, people. This applies the same for how it worked when I was, indeed, successful at teaching in the traditional classroom. (Whether or not you agree with this is your own personal opinion and not fact - same as what I share liberally on any of my videos.) There will always be people who have opinions that differ from mine or yours and they will talk as much as I will (or you will). To clarify, I never ever would think of myself to be Picasso because I actually think that while Picasso did revolutionary things? In his personal life (and anybody can do research and educate themselves on this topic), he did a lot of very questionable things that called into great question his integrity and general respectfulness to others. This goes the same for what anyone leaves in any of my comments including the ones for this video. **This comment has been edited and issues are addressed in an comment policy that will now be used with regard to comments/discussion on my channel.**

Looks like said commenter deleted their own comment! I'm glad to see that they made that decision. If/when they decide to make their own videos, I'm looking forward to their unique perspectives and I will gladly even share what/how they share on their youtube channel in order to drive traffic their way since (per the time when they did post their comment) they didn't have the viewership that I have worked hard to have here on my channel. #communityovercompetition wins every time, people! Let's remember that!!!

Good for you!!! You are absolutley correct....this is your channel and your opinions and you are sharing to help others. I love your video.. besides if I didn't I would simply click and find another one to watch. You did a beautiful job and thank you for taking your time to help others! Good for you!! That is what it is all about helping others and and supporting one another. Sad that some people feel so bad about themselves that they have to "lash out" and make ugly comments to others. Thank you for sharing!!!

You taught me something today I wish I had known about years ago. This has nothing to do with planning but instead learning. Until just now I didn't have a name for it but part of my son's ADHD needs the kinesthetic learning style. When he's reading or doing math or driving or just concentrating in general he has to move or he has no comprehension, I wish I would have had someone educated in this on my side when he was in detention or suspended for his "not controlling his impulse control" issues. The fact that at his school he tested on a mastery level but ended up dropping out in 8th grade due to constant impatience and perhaps ignorance from his teachers even though we were in the 504 program, sad. We tried homeschooling, which did not work for us, but he didn't want his education to stop there so he enrolled in a school that is part of the National Guard and graduated 6th in his class of 324, remarkable. They worked with him instead of against him & he flourished. So much so that he actually joined The National Guard & is graduating from ATI in nine days. I just hate that he had to go through all the "I can't help it, why do they hate me so much?" between 4th and 8th grade. I know his life would have been easier and mine sure would've been because those were some hard years. Maybe knowing this now I can at least make a suggestion, not a diagnoses, to other parents who may have never known about this. Thank you so much. I do like the planner part of the video too, just wanted you to know that since I rambled on about the learning. Thanks so much, look forward to more.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment. I so appreciate it all ^^^^ and it absolutely warms my heart that even though you are only getting this information now, it's helping you to have greater understanding for what you have had no choice but to deal with the way you have. As both a teacher and a mom, it's heartbreaking to me to hear what you and what I know other parents are going through. It's even harder for me to hear what kids have to go through in order to receive what I feel like are the greatest gifts of all - learning and being empowered to learn through natural discovery. I used to sit with parents but even more with students who would end up in tears and say that they felt so dumb compared to their classmates and they felt like their teachers hated them. I tried to make my class (the art room) a place that was a safe haven for them to ask as many questions as they liked and then I tried my best to use art-based learning techniques to help them feel comfortable enough to approach learning in other areas. Basically, I did something called scaffolding in terms of teaching. Anyway, I've thought long and hard about how not being in the classroom and with my kids everyday (and their parents every year) how I can still help and doing these videos is the best way that I have found can still be working in partnership and advocacy for helping people to learn in all sorts of ways. I'm glad that this video was helpful for you. It's even more inspiring to me to hear how your son, even with all of the challenges and opposition he faced that were so unnecessary, your son is a beautiful success story of what happens when an individual lets themselves be catapulted into greater directions beyond the circumstances others carelessly create for them that would otherwise hold them back. Thank you again for leaving this comment. I'm going to do my best to do more videos about things that parents can do in order help parents/teachers (or even students themselves) feel encouraged and empowered to keep forging ahead no matter the challenges they face.

I'm so glad you are enjoying them. There are so many ways to do planning and you will find that the more ways you try out, the more that you will be able to actually increase your efficiency and cleverness overall with how/what you're doing. Your life overall might even end up feeling different - almost like a well oiled machine - only because you are willing to let yourself move and evolve. It's very much like how designers and artists go through different stages of creativity - like Picasso's blue period? You are innovating your own life by letting yourself innovate on your planner pages.🎯

Friendly reminder about my channel and on how I'm going to try and handle comments and discussion on any of my videos. My goal is to make things family and kid-friendly and a place that is safe for learning and fun for folks of the youtube community as young as my 8 yo daughter. Anybody/everybody is welcome to comment on the content of this channel. Still, there will be careful consideration for certain issues so they are addressed out of sensitivity and consideration for the general public/viewing audience of this channel. This includes ones that attempt to call out certain subsets of folks: those with learning differences, those who take psychotropic medications, people who are of minority populations no matter if it's of religion/mental wellness/socio economic "status"/ethnicity. Things I take even more seriously are using the aforementioned to passive-aggressively use them to label or even insult in even mildly questionably mean-spirited or just plain insensitive ways. If this is something that you feel is appropriate for respectful or appropriate interaction then keep it on your own channel or to channels that welcome that sort of behavior. It's not welcome and will not be tolerated on this channel/any of my videos. Thanks so much for all of your support of this channel and the things we share. You all are the best and we love sharing here on youtube!!

Miss Andrea, Hello...I am a disabled RN, Retired. I grew up with a Sister born with a club foot...she had 5 major surgeries before she was 5 yo. Our Mom had Polio at 19 yo and had physical deficits in her left arm/shoulder. I got to be almost 58 yo before it dawned on me that this world sees them as Disabled! To me they were never disabled, just that they did things differently from others...their own "Normal". We never babied either of them...just treated them like we would any other human being...With all of this said, I do not see Disabilities in this world...EXCEPT for those Trolls that cause hurt feelings in people that just "Do Things Differently than I do"!!! BTW...I am dyslexic and it never dawned on me that I am disabled...I just read differently than others...To me Disability is the bailiwick of other peoples ignorance... BTW (again)...Thank you for doing this video. I just found your channel...Keep up the Great Work...I'm sorry you no longer teach.

Thanks so much for your comment. You touched on so many points that are important and you offered such great explanation about how/why they are important. I share the same sort of perspective about different abilities and also has to adjust/address them and how they play themselves out in life. It's so reassuring reading your comment discussing this! As I was reading it, I was just nodding my head more and more because you articulated the perspective you have (that I share as much) so beautifully. Thank you so so much for taking the time to leave your comment. :) And thank you also for your encouragement. I'm sorry I am not still in the classroom as well but I am still teaching (my daughter with homeschooling!) every day - just to a class of one, that's all.

@DeerestDahling
@DeerestDahling 8 жыл бұрын
Hi, Lindsay! I remember the challenges of being a new mom and I always am familiar with trying to better manage ADHD. It can be done to be more efficient and organized and I actually got my start with an ECLP and then I branched off into other types of planners - fauxdori and ring-bound planners. Since I work in the field of educational design and I am just a very DIY type, what helped me a lot was identifying my own personal learning style (Tactile and kinesthetic) as well as the types of multiple intelligences that are my strengths. These are items of educational psychology and learning differences but if you look them up, you might be able to do a little bit of self-diagnosis enough for it to give you a better foundation to navigate establishing yourself more comfortably in planning. Thank you so much for your comment and please let me know if you have any more questions about anything at all! I share daily videos and I also recently started a FB group called Deerest Dahling Focus Group that is a closed group but there is an open welcome to anybody who is interested in planning and/or just wants to have some connection with others in the planner community. It's a small group but it's growing and I hope to do some more personal interaction to extend from what I do here in my videos. :) Just search for the name of the group Deerest Dahling Focus Group and you should be able to find it.

I so like color on my planner pages too🎉.I really like your mail pages, for us those would come in handy for the holiday shopping we do🎁. Thank you for showing your DIY planner. I'm finding out that when I design the planner it works better for me. I actually like writing the date on the page, then I know the date and so on. So I guess I'm a repetitive visual learner/planner? All I know if I don't write it down chances are I'll forget☺️.

I love that you made the connection with originating your own planner with your planner peace. I have doing that is a major component of my planner as well. Somehow it makes me feel more invested and connected and I learn/retain things better. It goes along with what Benjamin Franklin said... "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn."
@DeerestDahling
@DeerestDahling 8 жыл бұрын
I have found also that writing the date is even more of something that makes planner peace, planning peace sustainable. It's because the information originates in the mind and then travels down through all of the nerves and senses to be released in writing. I'm all about tech in learning but that can coexist nicely with paper planning too.

+Andrea Royalty please tell your sub MKitten that if she contacts me one time I will turn her into U Tube, because I'm not about to take anyone's insults, disrespectful ignorance, because I commented on your page to the person who spoke bad of you! I have been contacted by "it" now 3x and this mama doesn't have time for Drama. In all my correspondence to you- nothing was cap'd n I will be damned if someone is going to tell me that she is sorry that I had very little education-when I'm actually a College Graduate. I was speaking of my X husband who had quit HS 6 mths left to Graduation due to people's Ignorance of his Handicap. Greatly appreciate it. This is getting out of hand when I was speaking to you, not it! I'm very Intelligent like you. Thank you very much. Maybe you should think of blocking her(it) so they can't Harass your subscribers! Just a thought! Not sure if it was the same person who was rude to you when I made my statement! Don't have time for Drama-These people

Thank you so much for this comment. I know that some of my videos can be exceedingly long but in my experience as a veteran teacher, sharing the metacognition that inspires/motivates how/why I do things has always been helpful to help others to figure things out better on their end. It's a teaching method that does make things take longer since it requires explanation but as you very astutely noted, it does make a difference! I really appreciate the fact that you noted this. Thank you so so much. I am sure you articulating this point as you did ^^^^ is probably also very helpful for others as well. :)

Mari, since you are an expert on this, could you please make a video to help, rather than put people down?

Andrea, I'm sorry someone used my comment to reply on and bully you. I reported for harassment.

Meagan - thanks so much for your support. I just removed that comment because the individual who left it is someone who I strongly suspect is the same individual who previously was leaving comments on this video but just under a different account. Strange but probably true and I don't get why anybody would go to such a length to do that but who knows about some folks - especially those who leave comments like what I had to remove.

Hi Shell! Glad you enjoyed this one. I just love DIY planning. It allows for so much flexibility sometimes and just plain breathing room when I feel like my planning has become overly structured and rigid. I much prefer when planning allows for some breathing room (so to speak).

+Deerest Dahling I LOVED this video. I had a pretty good planner system when i was in school and teaching, but now after a career change to engineer, I'm struggling to figure out what works for me to keep it all straight between work and home. Also, I love what you said about teaching, learning difference, and really just everything. I can relate to you and am so glad that I found your channel. :)
