You can always sharpen to a certain extend. As soon chunks are missing however the whole thing gets out of balance.

You should make sure they are balanced, even though you hit them equal amount of time your pressure pressing down on blade can be different each stroke

You can recover that beat up blade if you don't mind a fair bit of work, I've done similar thing before to my 1st set of EGO blades; when I just moved into my place, the yard was in a very bad shape with lots of debris on it and the EGO mower blade got badly chewed up, I was able to wring more use out it by sharpening with a grinder and flap disc as shown in the video, I had to essentially grind away a fair bit of metal and make the blade narrower to remove all the jagged edges but it can be done. BTW YardBrah, in your area, there's a vendor by the name One Sharp Guy who sets up a mobile trailer providing sharpening services at the Auburn Farmer's Market on Sundays. You can bring mower blades to him for sharpening if you don't want to do it yourself. Sadly though he doesn't do reel mower blades.

You first need to use a bench grinder. To straighten out all of the Nick’s that are in there so that you have a straight edge. And then grind the angle with the bench grinder and a smooth and even direction. And then balance the blade one all done

Most likely it would need to be taken fully back square and then a new edge cut into it to recover that ocean of an edge.

I don’t know why you guys water in the beaming sun. It should be early morning or late evening so you dont waste water and it won’t evaporate as it would in the sun. Watering in the sun can burn or damage the grass also fyi
