Great video, would love a night fishing video, colors and lure between the hours of 9pm to 5am this season. I fish inshore Sarasota between these hours and no video creators really hit on this time like I know you could. Thanks for the videos. keep em coming.

Good stuff and verifies exactly what I have found up here in the Panhandle. I have my confidence baits and hate to switch them up but need to do it more because I know I am fishing the "wrong" color style at times. LOL! Thanks CA!

Awesome and super informative video! I have been bass fishing my entire life, and just recently, about 6 months ago, I started fishing inshore. This helped answered so many questions and uncertainties I had.

Josh- you are going to find that inshore fishing is just like bass fishing with tides

I’m really glad you’re doing this presentation on lure color. I am a big fan of fishing the green lights at night out of my Canoe.. I also use soft plastics and top water lures that glow green in the light. You can actually charge them up with a flashlight.. Was sometimes having great results and other times no luck at all✌️💙😃

Salt Strong has glow in the dark 2.0 paddle tails now and should have other patterns in glow soon. I asked them to make glow about a year ago and they recently did it.
@notsure7874Ай бұрын
You can also charge them up with a camera flash. Intense short duration light makes it glow great.

@@comfortablynumb9342 We use them for glow discs playing disc golf at night. It's easier to keep your night vision because you're not fiddlign with a light that's on. You put it under something, or in a bag, and hit the button while looking away with eyes closed - you don't get flashed at all, and you know it's off before you open your eyes. I'm sure it works just as well with lures.

I’m pretty much right in there with you except I like to throw dark greens and browns instead of purple and blacks in dirty water. Zman redfish toad or Houdini for example. Still use purple in low/no light.

All good choices in my book 👍🏼

So - scuba diving gear sometimes has historically had some neon colors. Fins, wetsuits, etc. Hot pink, and bright yellow. Bright yellow is known as "yum yum yellow" because it's believed by some to possibly trigger shark attacks. This is one reason I minimize shiny flashy, and bright neon colors. For some reason pink doesn't have this reputation. So when he's saying Chartreusse is "one of those colors" that just attracts attention regardless, I 100% believe him.

Well I’m definitely tossing my yellow and/or chartreuse board shorts away for good. Not a fan of sharks biting my britches 😂

Good Evening Captain, I fish a river that has a lot of creosote in it from factories that were there years ago so the water is that tea color you mentioned to almost black in some areas. What colors would you recommend for that ? I'm usually targeting speckled trout , redfish and striper in that particular body of water.
@flatsclasschartersАй бұрын
A combination of black/gold/orange or gold/chartreuse work great

Would you change your approach at all if you live in an area where the water is pretty much always really stained? I live in Jacksonville. Very imformative video BTW!
@flatsclasschartersАй бұрын
No… I would just lean into the darker\opaque colors a little more.
@comfortablynumb9342Ай бұрын
It's worth remembering that fish don't see the same colors or wave lengths of light than we can see. I recently heard that bass only see shades of green and black. It would be nice to know exactly how our favorite saltwater fish see colors.
@flatsclasschartersАй бұрын
Yes we don’t know exactly what they see but we do have the data on how they respond to the colors we see for sure. I believe personally that silhouette and bi-color lures are seen more readily. Just my opinion

Do you think jig head color makes a difference, contrasting color to the tail or consistent natural color with the paddle tail?
@flatsclasschartersАй бұрын
Depends on the scenario and personal preference… two color options are more visible to predators
@freshandsaltyjohnnyАй бұрын
Yes it does. Like the guy above me said. It gi esd the fish a differentiating color which scientists said makes a huge difference. I use and make different color jigheads for that very reason and sometimes I catch 50-100 fish in a day so yeah it makes a difference lol
