I am investing every paycheck from my minimum pay job to get my 2nd and like actual dream car. My 1st husband is a Honda civic hatch. I still love him to this day from when I bought him at a Honda dealer. He has gotten to commute to work and back home. I usually use him to get to work for the most part. My 2nd husband, I will be getting a BMW and use to when I go out on my days off from work. This and you ms Jenna inspiring me more to do what i have been planning this investing since November of last year.

I was definitely able to negotiate my car's trade in/cash offer value. I took a quote I was given from another dealer and KBB that was higher than what they were offering me and they matched it. I bought a new car recently in CA and was a little disappointed too when I found out that my trade in didnt lower the taxable amount of the new car and I was still hit with the tax for the full amount, which sucks, but still happy with how little I had to pay overall for my new car.

Every influencer never puts miles on their car and now I get it because if you can mainly work from home you won't add miles. I updated my car during the pandemic and I have only put 7K miles on it in 3 years. Though I'd love to update to an EV I can't quantify moving away from a car that's so cheap for me to keep and maintain when I also don't drive that much.

Went to carmax and got an offer for $9,000 for an 8 year VW with 130k miles. Walked next door to a place across the street called Bidlane, showed them my carmax offer and they gave me $10,200 on the spot with a $600 carmax competitor bonus.
