This was so well said and explained and super encouraging to hear! I use to be very self-disciplined with pretty much everything in my life and it drove my hubs crazy and he wanted me to chill out. So I tried it and I found I went all the way to the other side and had no self-discipline and then add a hip injury on top of it and here I am 3 years later, finally healing from the hip injury and trying to find the just right amount of self-discipline to be content with myself, my life and not drive the hubs nuts. So this video has come to me at the most perfect time! Thank you so much for allowing the Holy Spirit to speak through you and for shining God glory in your life; you will be truly blessed! This is such a great reminder that we all need as moms, wives, women in general. I'm 45, and just this year have been able to get my exercise routine and weight to a healthy place, and maintaining it. I give God all the glory.

Wow. I honestly never thought of this from a biblical perspective....I feel kind of silly, because I've read all of those verses, and was thinking more that it was referring to self discipline in spiritual areas, and controlling our tongues, etc. Ironically, I set out this week to begin applying more self discipline and routine in my life just in general, since I have always bucked scheduling and routine... But I think it actually really helps, is good for myself and my kids, and feels good to overall. And then you posted this video. How fitting! This way of thinking is super helpful and also different from a lot that I've heard before. Plus, the fact that it's a fruit of the Spirit is going to help me respect this goal of mine so much more. The pain of doing what I don’t want to now is never as bad as the pain I feel later for not doing it. I struggle with procrastination. But 100% of the time, putting off something I should just go ahead and do is not as bad as the stress I feel later when I’m struggling to get it done.
