I'm glad that I have the opportunity to know how an engineering student actually studies and arranges his Time Management. Even though I'm an engineering student too in Computer Engineering Degree. Honestly, it is really hard to find a better study technique for recalling the learning material actively. I have watched some videos about students of Medical Science Degree(like Ali Abdaal, Kharma Medic) who give many tips ( like about active recalling, Feynman Technique, Space Repetition, and more...) only on Theoretical part instead of Practical part. I suppose it is not so often applicable in all learning styles or subjects although I study for an Engineering Degree. Can you recommend for those who study in an engineering degree which study techniques we need to focus on to give our higher achievements as Engineering Students? If those techniques (which had been mentioned before) are useful in Engineering as well, how would we apply those techniques better in our subjects ( like Maths, Electronics, Physics, etc)? It would be even more helpful if I have an idea of how to apply them in my learning. Also thanks for the video, man. I appreciate it :) Keep doing it.
@TamerShaheen3 жыл бұрын
From experience, I’ve learned that medical and engineering students need to study differently for the most part. Medical students like Ali Abdaal and Khama Medic usually have to memorize a lot of information, so they need strategies like Feynman technique. But, for engineering students, it’s all about practice. The problem sets and assignments that ur professor give need to be done regularly (sometime even more than once) so u really get the jist of engineering.

So I’d just like to find out if you don’t have to attend lectures and tutorials ? Because a typical day in my engineering course involves attending lectures and having a tut test …every single day …. How then can you study for 12hours? Or does that include lectures ? Also our midterm exams are literally all in the same week one day after the other …. We don’t get a study week or anything . What would you suggest ?
@TamerShaheen3 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to attend lectures, but some tutorials are mandatory since they can have graded quizzes (but they’re usually worth very little). I usually don’t study for 12 hours every day...I only study that much during midterm week or final exam season. I’d literally do the exam then come home and study all day for the next one. I’d also spend most of the day on the weekends studying. Also, my studying time doesn’t include going to lectures.

I feel like your university system is different. We have like seminars and lectures. For example from 8 am till 5 pm. With some break in the middle. So just wondering how do you have time to study 12 hours. I have like only 5 hours time to study if I want to have a good sleep schedule. Also because my university is almost 2 hours away. I study computer engineering by the way
@TamerShaheen3 жыл бұрын
I don’t study 12 hours a day every single day. I’ll usually do that type of studying on weekends. Also, my university likes to put all my exams in one week and give us the week right before off with no classes. So, I’d usually study 12 hours a day in that week where I have no classes to study for all my midterms and exams.

A tip that saved hours of my time: Get a smart watch. Ever since I got a smart watch, I would connect it to my phone the leave my phone in another room while studying. This helps because you know that you won't miss out on any notification, but you also won't be able to take your phone, and procrastinate.
