Thanks for sharing. I also have level 3 of those textbooks. I am waiting to restart them though. What I’ve found is they even if we “know” the things in a lower level , if we can not use those things fluidly We still need to practice them and make them solid before leveling up. So when I started studying and practicing Korean again, I decided to start with a review level and go a level down to work on using the vocab and grammar. Speaking, writing, thinking and listening. We will automatically get better at reading as we read so much in Korean anyways. Not to mention, sometimes we know a word when we see it but not when we hear it because of a lack of real life practice with those words. So I’ve also began to practice listening to native content more and improving my pronunciation so that when I read a word I read it correctly and can recognize it when a native Korean uses it. I do need to get back to learning on italki too! Glad you’re enjoying it and having a break before returning to Korea!

I don’t know if you have the same problem that I had learning Japanese but I could study vocabulary to death but I had to hear it in conversation and fail to understand it and ask what’s that mean? Before it would finally stick. The solution was to have lots and lots of conversations. So humiliating. I’m hoping Korean sticks better and I don’t have to ask what everything means in real life after I study it by myself.

I’m trying your tutors out since you recommended them so highly. (If it doesn’t work out don’t worry - it just means I need another year to work on my korean conversation skills probably before taking a lesson). She actually friended me on Skype right away which impressed me. Most teachers don’t even message me until right when class is supposed to start. *edit* Ok I did a conversation lesson with Narii. She's super patient and let me speak even if I needed a moment to think. I like how she didn't just switch to English when I had trouble but let me keep trying.

You have so many great study tips! Recording myself is something I also like to do to practice, and sometimes I use the speaking feature in Papago to see if the app can understand my pronunciation

Interesting, never thought about recording my voice in Korean and hearing it back, thanks for the tip. I need to practice more, I can pronounce ok but trying to understand it is not easy.

you say talking to yourself isnt the BEST cause you cant correct yourself... its true and false. you cant correct yourself, but you can still get corrections this is a HUGE part of how i learned korean. i also thought of fake scenarios and whatd id say or might hear then i wrote it down then i posted it on hellotalk for natives to correct. i have noticed people are more likely to help if you can ask in korean. 혹시... 제 글 좀 수정해주실 수 있나요? or you can discuss it with your tutors since you have one i feel this is helpful cause whatever you had going on in that convo is obviously something that will come up and you should learn. or you wouldnt have considered it just an idea:)

Great video, thank you for the tips. I'm wondering if you are going back to Korea to study at a university like Natalia? Also, the friend that you are staying with, is she a Pagan? I spy lots of Pagan décor
